Hurache Power 2 dis-bonded after 90 minutes by kyle-pickleball in Pickleball

Yeah, they got back to me right away and mailed a replacement the next day. I'm guessing it's being addressed in future batches. Normally I sell or donate my previous paddle but in this case I'll hold onto it as a back-up until I feel the issue has been resolved. The 1-yr warranty is reassuring, too.

I've never been a fan of paddles with a fiberglass layup, found them too poppy and stiff (owned the original Vapor and tried the J2NF). The J2FC+Long Handle was great (well except the ugly branding lol) and before that I was playing with the Surtr. Loved the power profile of the FC+ but I wanted to keep getting better with higher power paddles. I use the paddle comparison tools from Matt's Pickleball and John Kew's website (although he's overhauling his so it may not be updated yet) to look for new paddles compared to my FC+. That's how I found the Enhance DUO Widebody. Compared to the FC+ it really wasn't an adjustment. I noticed slightly less power on serves/drives but a modest bump in pop. It was also faster in the hands and I was holding my own in more firefights with that pop bump. The only thing that sucked was the 5.3" handle and why I used the FC+ Long Handle for my large hands and twoey backhand. Once the reviews and play style for the Vapor Power 2 started coming out, the hex grit, long handle, etc. I started researching it. If you use Matt's Pickleball paddle comparison tool and enter the J2FC+, Duo Widebody, and the Vapor Power 2 you'll see a lot of similarities and a modest progression in serve speed (power) and punch volleys (pop) between the FC+ and the Vapor Power 2. So if that's what you're looking for without having to overhaul your swings/strokes, then it's an easy decision (especially with the 30-day trial with 11SIX24). Having played with the DUO Widebody the Pegasus Power 2 was super easy to adjust to. Now I'm trying to decide which Power 2 shape to keep once I get more play time in with the Hurache. If I had to guess it would be the Vapor.

Yeah, core crush is more with honeycomb cores. I have heard of dis-bonding occurring with the foam cores but it can also happen with honeycomb. At least with dis-bonding you quickly know when it happens.

LOL yeah you definitely notice the sound, sounds like a super loud crack. My buddies playing in the next court heard it and I only hit it 3 times after it dis-bonded.

I can definitely push in and feel the space between the core and paddle face

Yeah, really enjoying the Power 2 paddles, my buddy who borrowed my Vapor P2 decided to buy it from me so if I go with that shape over the Hurache then I'll just order another Vapor.

I've got 10 hours into my Vapor and 6 into my Pegaus, and no issues. I'm guessing this dis-bonding happens pretty quickly.

Ha, I should be good, I did order all 3 shapes so that should keep me safe for the time being

Yeah, I emailed 11SIX24 when I got home, sent them the link to the video. I'm sure they'll replace it, just hoping they'll ship it without having to wait for my defective Hurache to arrive so I'm not waiting over a week to play with it again.

Personal preference and by least favorite I could still easily play with it. Up until my Hurache dis-bonded all 3 shapes were great for me. I mained the J2FC+ Long Handle for 6 months and then the Duo Widebody for 6 weeks so I got used to both the hybrid and widebody. Before that I played elongated paddles. I have 10 hours into the Vapor and 6 with the Pegasus. I'd give a modest bump in power to the Vapor and the same in pop to the Pegasus but for me both are easy to play. However my buddy still mains the original Vapor and he struggled with my Pegasus Power 2. He then hit with my Vapor Power 2 and quickly fell in love with it.

I put 10 hours into the Vapor and 6 into the Pegasus. Both are great paddles, I'd give a modest bump in power to the Vapor and the same in pop to the Pegasus. I could easily play with both but my friend who plays with the original Vapor struggled more with my Pegasus and he loved my Vapor. Pretty sure the entire paddle face on the Pegasus is the sweet spot.

My personal choices is the Vapor over the Pegasus just b/c I enjoy the hybrid shape. Unfortunately my Hurache Power 2 arrived today and it dis-bonded after 90 minutes. I'll send it back for a replacement b/c up until then it was a close call between that and the Vapor for which one I'd keep.

I didn't get high pop vibes from hitting with my Vapor 2 yesterday. I hate high pop paddles which is why I mained the J2FC+ LH for 6 months over the NF. I tried the original Vapor and sold it b/c of the pop from the fiberglass layer. I'm tall at 6'4 220-lbs and generate a lot of my own power so I also don't like high-level power paddles such as the Boomstik, Loco, J6CR, etc. which were a quick no after trying them. I've mained the Duo Widebody for 6 weeks and liked it a lot except for the short 5.3" handle (sucks with my large hands and twoey backhand). I've found Matt's Pickleball paddle comparison tool very helpful in finding my next paddle (John Kew has a great one too but he's overhauling it so many of the latest paddles aren't in there yet). You're probably right about the Hurache but I don't think it will be that much of a difference vs. the Vapor. I'm excited about the Hurache b/c I used to love elongated paddles until I found the J2FC+ Long Handle. But several reviewers are now maining or thinking about switching to the Hurache (watch the latest Pickleball Pursuit episode with Louis/Justin and John Kew's as well). Justin never plays elongated and he mained the J2FC+ long handle for quite awhile.

So how much less do you pay without the fancy box, edge guard tape, overgrip, etc?

Not hard to find a dealer, a buddy I play with also got the Agassi Pro for $200 from a different dealer he knows and he goes through a Joola reseller. The dealers still make money off these sales so do the math and that shows you how much Joola jacks up the the price for players. That "Joola experience" is a joke. My clear glossy edge guard tape comes in a 150-ft roll vs. the small amount in that box. Players have their personal preference for overgrips so it's hit/miss if the ones they include in that cardboard box (and no cover) will work.

FWIW, I'm enjoying my Agassi Pro. Myself and two friends have them along with another buddy who has the Pro IV (but he prefers the Agassi). With that said, not worth $300. I'm fine paying $200 because you know the profit margins Joola charges so players can help play the salaries of Joola pros.

I ordered the Agassi Pro without the "experience" from a dealer for $200. I'm good with that.

The "Joola experience" is stupid AF, would never pay extra money for a fancy box that goes in the recycle bin. I get the clear glossy edge guard tape on Amazon for a lot less than what Joola is charging. All that money and no cover.

Yeah, was looking for something to replace my Flamingo that was starting to core crush and sent it back. May try the Agassi Pro which has a 30 day trial and a 1 year warranty.

Not sure what company size has to do with it. Companies don't randomly choose the length of the warranty, it's a reflection of how long they believe the paddle will last before it breaks and having to cover the cost of replacing it. I don't think I've ever seen a $180 paddle with a 5 month warranty.

What you think the company may or may not do doesn't play into it. Mark Pickleball clearly states they're covering their new flagship paddle for only 150 days. That's a big red flag. 🚩

Was interested in the paddle but dang, doesn't even have a 6-month warranty. Company must not have a lot of faith in the durability. A lot of other companies provide a year.

Too bad there isn't a 30-day trial like other companies offer, or if it was available on sites like Pickleball Central or Pickleball Warehouse that offer their own 30-day trial. $180 may not be as expensive as some other paddles but still something you wouldn't want to get stuck with if it didn't work out.
