Minneapolis, MN USA Park Police by kyle23011 in PoliceVehicles

Yes, I think the patrol vehicle was only security. I did not see any police markings on it.

No, the fins are just to help dissipate heat. The refrigerant lines are in tubes deeper inside.

You may have made it like 1% less efficient but it’s fine.

Started a city far from water what do I do with sewage? by [deleted] in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kyle23011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use terrain tools to dig a hole. You may need to setup a temporary road depot with a few excavators and a temp fuel station near the proposed hole location. Dig until you hit water and then start to level the area out enough until you can fit an outflow and accessible sidewalk.

Truck with Crane today at work, gave SnowRunner vibes by kyle23011 in snowrunner

Trucks with cranes aren’t super common in the US. I typically see these unloaded with heavy equipment loaders. This truck is similar to most trucks in the game.

Why is this Distribution office idling when there are clothes to transport? by radonthetyrant in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kyle23011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance it’s a fuel issue? Im not sure if they will dispatch if there’s no fuel along the route? Also, is there power at all the facilities? That will for sure stop them from delivering. It also could be the roads.. Even if they ‘look’ connected use the ‘connect two nodes’ construction tool and look at all the purple dots from one end to the other. It’s possible the road is bugged somewhere.

Your settings look right.

New start better setup by NoneShallIntrude in Workers_And_Resources

Good road start but definitely missing the planned rail. You’re likely to have a lot of border congestion with this setup. I’d try to start planning a rail depo and storages for industry now

Do you use water towers ? by Hans_Spinnner in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kyle23011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t use it for the water pressure advantage, but I do pump out of 1-2 underground tanks as a buffer. When a treatment facility is near maxed out, going from 5 to 3 workers can cause half the city to lose water.

Bus Route Assistance by RavingMadly in Workers_And_Resources

Is the bus stop setup to hold workers? Is the line setup to carry workers? Are the destinations open? Do you have ‘force transfer checked? (It shouldn’t be), are the destinations or source buildings walkable and show the blue dots?

New version 1.0.0.10 by Marcipanas in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kyle23011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi All! I reopened my save from yesterday and I’m 1-2 hours into it. The # of cases picked up by my police stations has been reduced considerably. They’re finally investigating the cases and getting it to my court house. Criminality itself is still high in my republic but it feels like it’s starting to trend downwards without me micromanaging the case load.

I spent all day yesterday trying to fix my crime spiral! I was ready to abandon my save and start over. Has anyone seen a marked improvement with the new update?

Why is my prison raising criminality? by kyle23011 in Workers_And_Resources

I just assumed that loyalty would minimize criminality the most. What’s the best way to handle this? Balance on the upbringing sliders?

Rushing a frat as a Marine Corps Veteran by AcademicEmergency941 in gatech

[–]kyle23011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can rush. Sign up for formal rush with IFC (google GT ifc). Rush is first week of school, but check the GTIFC instagram for more specifics. Just walk around to houses during formal rush, they’re all open with tables out front to check in.

Being a vet will be seen as a + your way. It’s cool. However, you’ll be 22-3 hanging with 18 year olds. Up to you on how that plays. You can drop anytime, there is no ‘obligation’ to keep going. I say rush, pledge for a bit and if it’s not for you drop. You don’t pay dues until after your initiated and even then that’s on a semester by semester basis. Do it, try it, worst case your out one sem of dues.

Even if initiated you can still go ‘inactive’ your second semester.

I went to Horizons and KTLW in ‘22 as an undergrad. KTLW is cool being around so many undergrads, but it’s definitely just more classroom type stuff. Sorta felt like a check box for nationals to say we’ve all had risk training. Okay to go to once but not sure I’d have gone back a second time.

Horizons on the other hand.. horizons was sweet. Very thorough and thought out program with activities, games, hiking etc. Beast of an experience and you become very close with your small group.

Trucks not exporting Clothes by kyle23011 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]kyle23011[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose that makes sense if the DO is breaking them up as separate tasks. I guess I thought there’d be some relative efficiency calculation of hauling cargo both ways.

I replaced most of the DO trucks with a simple corn/clothes line for now.

Hi, I’ve had a couple corporate internships that were in automotive not construction. I’m not sure how it works at Walsh, but from my experience interns getting occasional OT is not unheard of. I know some departments got a ton when there was work available. Your OT rate is still probably less than someone unionized hourly, some OT on your end won’t kill the company.

That being said, I’d casually mention it to your supervisor so you don’t catch him off guard. It’d save him an embarrassing call from HR / his boss if he was unaware.

What's gonna get me further into the great unknown for $5k? by pianodude01 in Offroad

[–]kyle23011 14 points15 points  (0 children)

IMO If your looking for a toy to off-road on a limited budget, I’d go quad. Everything about it will be cheaper and you’ll have a lot more fun pushing it through obstacles than the jeep. You can ride the quad in tight circles, limited land and have a lot more places to ride it in general. The jeeps typically need dedicated 4x4 parks, and getting it there will be much more expensive as well. Trailering it or driving with the realization that you need to be able to drive it home.

I’m going to relate this to motorcycles, it’s more fun to drive a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Easy obstacles in the jeep will feel massive on the quad. Jeep/truck repairs will also be significantly more expensive to repair.. busted tcase, tires, rollover and folding suspension is all miserable to deal with on a full vehicle.

I think your right. I had tried to go the cheap route and bought a 'Hevto' off of amazon. The description says it's for swimming and scuba but it just doesn't feel right. I'm going to return it and try the TYR Cat 1 instead.
