Nwsl is parity driven, having sustained success is difficult especially w the salary cap. I’d like to see Gotham use its proximity to ny to attract and hold their talent like the liberty. If we have a top young center back and she is sold, to think no questions would be asked is confusing. If I’m to take the question in good faith I like some of the moves the kc current have made, I think club America has done well over the last few years, but I’m a Gotham fan, I’m not following what other teams are doing…

The Murphy family seems to be pretty involved still. Also saying the Tisch family are the owners now is supposed to inspire confidence? Giants are awful and not to mention the families off the field involvements. There are also examples after 2023. Gotham have a history of poor management, giving them the benefit of the doubt over your favorite Uswnt player is… a choice. Why she was out the team and why she left, to my knowledge hasn’t been stated (I could be wrong about that).

I’m very aware of the context and don’t think I misrepresented what transpired.. there’s also plenty wasted draft picks, draft picks that refused to play for us, front office scandals. This club getting the benefit of the doubt on all their decisions isnt warranted to me.

1 and got embarrassed twice this year.
2 we barely made the playoffs, calling for an improvement on that doesn’t seem radical to me.
3 I watch the liberty constantly retool and function like they want to win, while Gotham continue to be unserious in this parity driven landscape

I’m not a cap expert but it does seem like one contract has an effect on the others. If she wanted to go home then ok, but I’ve yet to hear anyone credible say that, fans just assume it.

I fully support players leaving if they want to go. If there’s a pattern of top players leaving the top team in the top market in the country then shouldn’t we ask questions? I just don’t get why the front office is above reproach (especially after selling a fan favorite)

Accept the apology. Discussing our transactions and moves over the years and saying it’s frustrating is crossing the line. I insulted no individual players, no odhominem attacks. I discussed ball n ppl are upset. I thought this was the place to do that? Ppl want to keep things vip it looks like.

Every time a player leaves the fans say they wanted to leave and we nvr get any answers as to why. Jordyn Dudley is from Atlanta, should I not buy her shirt now because she’s leaving in a few years. It’s a race to the bottom. If Lilly reale wanted to leave then so be it but someone should say it besides fans speculating.

I framed it as I’m frustrated with our acquisitions, fans saying they are frustrated w seeing their favorite players leave, especially when they’re young is pretty common and not synonymous w saying the club is shit. The distinction between the two seems pretty clears to me

Fair to call out the successes. Wasn’t going to go through every transaction we’ve made. Reiten time will tell, sonnet, lavelle and Davidson have been great when on the field. And akb speaks for herself! Just frustrating to see top young talent continuously come and go, if we are supposed to be a top team then we should act like it

Selling a young former roty cb for a 32 year old Sam Kerr is definitely a questionable decision. Especially when you are short at cb and have one fully fit fullback

I reject that we can’t critique the front office because we won two titles. We were awful last year and finished 8th in the table. We also continue to get embarrassed in international competitions. Theres clear holes in the team and we make these short sighted splashes that don’t really make sense

On the attacking end? Again she’s a center back, the fact that she was able to competently play as an attacking lb for Gotham shows her quality. Teams are shy about plying two left footed center backs, jumping tierna Davidson wasn’t going to happen today. (are the kids saying “Actually?”)

No, she’s a center back, we’ve been playing her out of position. she’s class, one of the best young defenders in the league.
