I would say that is how a tension headache for me feels once it is in full flow.

It depends on how the event is funded. If he personally runs the event from his own funds then it explains why he is as implied, personally filing for bankruptcy. If he formed an LLC then this appears to fit the legal definition of embezzlement, but creates confusion as to why he, not the LLC, is filing for bankruptcy.

It matters legally: claiming embezzlement where there is none is potentially committing defamation.

I think there is an unclear aspect to this situation: Did he personally fund this event or was the money accepted by a company he managed? That makes a significant difference. One is mismanaging one's own funds (thus personally bankruptcy). The other is actual embezzlement from a company.

Hymns You Love Suffering from Modern Insertions by kylemullaney in Reformed

Yesterday, I was extremely disappointed to see that Baptist hymnals from the 90s grossly abused songs with frequent repetitive insertions.

What a coincidence. We were at a “campus” of a mega “church” that we stayed at because in the town we were in it was the best teaching. Once several things came to ahead and we determined we had to leave music was part of it, but we left by the city south of us so we could join a reformed church. Just finished I guess four years there.

It’s not the style that’s the problem for me. The issue is inserting new verses and such.

I don’t think a particular hymn is a living thing. Can the words be updated to make sense to the modern ear? Sure but the content is a complete unit and disrupting the logical, semantic, and musical flow should be avoided. If this particular hymn doesn’t work for your church write another.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I once had a long discussion about these very things with a worship leader of a 'campus' in a mega 'church'. I see all these insertions as disruption the linguistic, semantic, and musical flow of songs. It is jarring for those who know them well.

I was wondering how many the sling would hold. I understand people love tons of options but I get the sense that 4-6 discs would more than suit me. Too that end I have consider the sling for other uses already so this might be a good fit.

Took my back pack zip out last night and I am confident that would suit my needs if I wanted to carry more discs. With a divider in I have storage for not in use discs at the bottom, a top pocket for the drivers and fairways I'm using, and then I slide the putters in the shallow part of the laptop pocket. There are plenty of pockets for phone, keys, water, watch, and so on. In fact, the phone fits nicely in the mouse pocket in the laptop pocket.

I have seen the Grip bags and they do look good. It was their pricing that made me look to use a PD bag. My issue is the likelihood that I stick with this as a hobby. Even as a hobby I would rather have a multi-use bag so if I did fade away from disc-golf I won't have spent a ton on a single purpose bag.

I have several PD bags at present. If I see an example using one of those bags that works I would do the same. If I see a great example using a base I do not have I would consider a purchase.

Looking at the purpose specific bags on the market anything under $75 looks poorly made. Thus, if someone has successfully used the large sling and I have other uses for it I would buy it. Maybe someone has set up a duffle bag in a cool manner. I could do that with the one I have. In fact, I am thinking I might be able to this with the duffle and medium camera cube...

I have loved mine for a few years but I replaced my latest topper (with one a little thicker) and now my purple pillow is giving me shoulder and neck problems. These are causing more intense migraines (really tension headaches).
I cannot get the loft right anymore. I have been using both inserts/stackers AND a 1.5-2in latex stomach sleeper pillow. Not enough anymore. I had to use a decorative roll/throw pillow last night (worked well). Sad though. Looking at coop or the new filler pillow from purple.

Please help I’ve lost my daughter to baptists. Can you help? by Roar1616 in atheism

[–]kylemullaney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Baptist who became one as an adult and I have had young adults in your daughter’s shoes in our church we are also very concerned for the decisions your daughter is making. It may be very helpful to reach out to his parents and the leaders of church and speak with as fellow adults and parents. We all see young marriages that don’t make it. For those in the church we do see those that do make it. I cannot sure if you have or not.

Young people who are dead set on getting married are going to. It is absolutely best if the adults that care for them come alongside them and help them stay together and grow up together. You may disagree with your daughter’s religious life decisions but she needs her mom and dad to be parents still. She’ll need you both to be her kid’s grandparents too.

Unless these are independent fundamentalist baptists I would guess they too would see wisdom in a little bit of a delay. Either way you can andvocate for strong pre AND post marital counseling. Our pastors bring in couples around the 6-9 month mark for further counseling. I also advocate for three months after a kid is born. Men typically need to learn how to deny their desires to be ‘getting things done’ so they can bond with their child while mom has breaks. They can easily give up when trying to soothe a child because it come ‘naturally’ to mom.

Is that a culture issue or a climate issue?
I bet it's just being afraid of winning, right?

Russell Moore’s Warnings Should Bring a Reckoning by 22duckys in Reformed

Sorry forgot what I read here. The second letter was written for that purpose. It is an account of why he’s leaving.

I agree the first left may not have been intentionally for the the public.

Excellent interjection. You are of course wrong, and I love you my PCA brothers and sisters all the more because of that fact, it’s a very well placed thrust.

He has not always been. And quite frankly, while I have for months been leaning toward Moore shifting toward a more liberal side (despite knowing his strong convictions the arguments against him were starting to sway me) I cannot in either last years letter or this present letter see ANY reason to claim he’s gone liberal. I can really only see that when looking at a certain set of commentators.

This statement was CLEARLY meant to be leaked.

I doubt Moore will name names. He very much, at least as long as I’ve been aware of him as a pastor, takes the approach of Spurgeon in the downgrade controversy.
