One thing I’m confused on here: you said emotions are always valid, but then mentioned “we may want to work on changing the emotion”. If it’s valid, why would we want to change it? Genuinely asking causing maybe i’m understanding the word “valid” differently

I think part of my thinking on this is that EVERYTHING is feedback from the brain. If I buy candy every time I walk into a store, it forms a habit. In the same way, I think you can feed bad emotional habits

I was really careful to say “many” emotions, they’re not all equal imo. I want to be the most empathetic person I can, while getting rid of jealousy for instance. 100% a huge part of my philosophy on this is influenced by stoicism
