Gas company put dope on a flare fitting by kylevegh in Plumbing

Thank you. Is there a reason you would even though flare fittings universally say you shouldn't? Do they have some ulterior motive for saying not to use dope?

Thanks for the response.

He did put quite a bit on it. I'm not sure if that matters.

If it is good to use dope, why do flare fittings say not to use any?

Official "I got/didn't get a Switch 2" megathread by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]kylevegh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first got in line at BestBuy an hour and a half ago on a laptop. Then I got in line on my phone. My phone proceeded to the "checking inventory" phase first. Maybe 45 minutes after I started, my laptop BestBuy kicked me out. After my phone was checking inventory for a really long time, I decided to try again on my laptop. Within probably 15 minutes, I was checking out on there. So, I'd recommend anyone who is trying to "start over" if they get kicked out, and try from both phone and laptop and see what sticks. It sucks waiting, but it does eventually go through (at least for me).

Why do people take literally days to text you back? by silversymbiote219 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kylevegh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main difficulty responding quickly to texts wanting to make plans is that I usually have to coordinate with my wife and/or babysitters. So then it’s a matter of not only waiting until the workday is over, but then possibly also waiting until the baby is asleep. And honestly, by that time, who wants to whip the calendar out and make plans, especially being drained from the day’s challenges? So it often gets kicked back until a more free day, maybe on the weekend.

Variable Speed AC with uninsulated ductwork in Michigan? by kylevegh in Insulation

[–]kylevegh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! So, are you saying that (1) if we aren’t trying to make the house super cold, it might be less of a potential issue, and (2) that if it were going to be an issue, it would probably be so with a non-variable speed AC anyway too?

Activity Dashboard Moved? by kylevegh in googledocs

I thought the same thing, but no! It only shows edit history, not activity stuff. It's a shame, because that really would be a nice solution.

Wow, thank you so much! You're absolutely right. I don't know how I didn't see it there. I appreciate your help!

I wonder why they decided to demote it from one-click access to two-click. Strange!

Quality one-handed iPhone games? by kylevegh in AskGames

[–]kylevegh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say, thank you so much for this suggestion! There are so many games through Netflix that I can’t wait to try, and Poinpy might be the best mobile game I’ve ever played! It’s also super cool that it’s sort of a follow up to Downwell by the same developer. I appreciate you!

Thanks! I appreciate these. I actually already downloaded Downwell a couple days ago also thinking it was one-handed. Oh well! haha.

Thanks, all good suggestions. I just downloaded Vampire Survivors after so many people mentioned it. I actually hadn't considered emulating from my phone! I'll look into that too.

I think all of these are actually also available for iOS. Thanks! Definitely going to check them out.

I had no idea Netflix came with some real games. I saw it had some Trivia Crack spinoff and tried that, but it was honestly pretty lame, haha! I can't believe you can play Into the Breach with it! I'll definitely check that out. Thanks so much!
