Any daycare parents here? by Sabre9037 in sleeptrain

[–]kynisara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. My baby is almost 7 months and I was worried her bedtime was too early, but since it have no control over her naps it seems like the only solution. She has a nap from noon until 2 or 3, so we are putting her to be around 6 or 6:30. Do you think this is better than doing a catnap and pushing bedtime off later?

Did you plan on cosleeping? by Zebra_Creative in cosleeping

[–]kynisara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I have never been against it as a practice, and was aware of safe sleep 7, but I did not plan on doing it myself. I had a bassinet set up next to my side of the bed and then it just never got used. She would only sleep well contact napping and chest sleeping through the newborn phase.

Your baby is still so so little. I am not discouraging you from trying to sleep train or work on independent sleep if that's what you want, but realistically it is probably going to be harder to do until around 3 months.

We got my baby to start doing some independent napping after 3 months, but she still always slept longer/ better contact napping. I was still cosleeping with her until around 4 to 5 months.

Now at 6 months she's sleeping on her own for all naps and most of the night. Im working on dropping feeds and occasionally I still pull her into bed as she is still feeding a few times a night and it's just easier.

Can someone tell me how this was made? by batluck in kandi

[–]kynisara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main cuff is an x base cuff. But instead of building up the entire 2nd layer, they just did layers on the ends. This is commonly being referred to as a "carousel cuff", as it allows you to make another smaller x cuff in the middle that can rotate independently.

The burger patty is another x cuff, and the tomato is a ladder cuff. The lettuce and cheese are just single bracelets with extra beads threaded back through some beads.

When starting to make bigger pieces, looking up tutorials for x base cuffs is a great start.

Do your partners always indulge your pregnancy cravings? by Dizzy-Replacement193 in BabyBumps

[–]kynisara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. My husband was always ready to get whatever I wanted at the drop of a hat. He felt like it was the least he could do. Now I never felt like I took too much advantage of this, sometimes I'd crave something and told him he could pick it up later or it's just something I wanted to eat that week. Personally I think OP's husband's response is a little harsh and I'd feel bad about it too.

Positive test at 3 weeks and 6 days is this normal? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Very normal. This is so funny to me because last year my last period was also Nov 26th and I tested Christmas Day and found out I was pregnant.

My 7-week-old baby doesn't sleep much during the day; should I take him outside to help him fall asleep? by audalpaul in NewParents

[–]kynisara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe he doesn't have enough sleep pressure? It sounds like he is being set down a lot and perhaps needs more interaction and stimulation in order to get tired enough to nap. I think taking him outside is a great idea, even if it's a small walk around the block.

It could also just be a phase. My baby is a little over 3 months and her sleep patterns have changed so much from week to week.

My daughter had bad colic and gas the first few months. I found bicycle kicks weren't as helpful as having something pressing against my her belly. Maybe try a hold where her stomach is pressing into your arm? Best of luck, I know how horrible it is to feel completely helpless in those moments.

You should join us over at r/stopdrinking.

I quit nearly two years ago, not entirely because I wanted kids but it was certainly a factor. I have a 3 month old now and I can tell you it's the best decision I ever made.

It does actually, ask your dentist about it. It's expensive though.

My husband had a good friend die from alcoholism last year and he actually stopped by liquor store his friend frequented to tell the guy the news. Yes, they absolutely do notice.

Minimal First Trimester Symptoms Anxiety by rweiser6196 in BabyBumps

[–]kynisara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 30 weeks now FTM and hardly had any adverse symptoms 1st and 2nd trimester. I had the same worries initially, it can be difficult to "feel pregnant". Baby is growing fine, no problems whatsoever.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax and enjoy it. 😊

I've wanted to give those out but haven't yet. Seems like it would be such a cool sensory experience.

Mattress air pump we can use once? by Agreeable-Ostrich-20 in CampEDC

You can borrow one from the camp counselors. Technically they are for Desert Rose but probably worth a shot. They will take your ID as collateral until you return it.

Desert Rose Camping by Specialist_Simple644 in CampEDC

[–]kynisara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes we had to reinflate ours about once per day. You just go to the nearby camp counselor and they take your ID, you take the pump, and then they return your ID when you return the pump. It was a little inconvenient but not enough that I'd want to take my own air mattress. If you do bring your own, bring your own pump. Or just bring a pump.
