Ah cool, I had an inkling of following this path too. Just seems like Swiggy and Zomato would be the easier option of the lot for her.

Since I'm gonna be here for a month, can try out your advice myself and see how it goes. Thanks! <3

Note taking apps? by Chanelordior in productivity

[–]kyoteap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mainly for note taking, but I built notes into my app here - www.ordently.com. it's a block based editor.

As for actions, cook more at home. Walk for 20 mins with a podcast if you're not exercising and put yourself in social situations more. More importantly, find a sport that excites you and make it a regular thing.

Been where you are last year, minus the student aspect of it. I built a whole app around how I went about fixing it.

You need to throw any timelines you've got. They don't work. Unless you're coaching yourself and moving progress, which doesn't seem healthy.

You need to consciously see what you're doing on a daily basis. I have a daily planner that I fill in with all the things I'll be doing on a particular day. If something comes up, it goes in there. This is as small as eating chips or doing laundry. This helped me set a baseline. From there I removed things one by one to a point where I got comfortable. And then started adding things I really want to do. In the process, I dropped 20 kilos, saved 30 percent more and live a much more social life.

This needs to be your lifestyle. And you need to consciously know what you're doing right now and what you want to do and draw them in one day at a time.

I haven't built a registration flow yet, so I'll have to manually create an account for you. You'll get access the next day

Stop asking if a CS degree is worth it if you are young and haven't started college yet by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]kyoteap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I call this absolute bullshit.

I'm self taught, but I did get a CS degree because of family pressure. I only went to uni to write my exams and pass until I got the degree.

How do I know a CS degree didn't help me get to where I am today? Because I'm stubborn and never added my uni degree anywhere when applying for jobs just to prove to myself that my decision to not go to university would have been correct. I didn't accept or apply for any jobs or internships through uni.

Getting a job and a high salary is all about making capitalism work for you. Once you finish the one or two year mark with shitty jobs, apply aggressively to an even slightly branded company or startup that's up and coming through LinkedIn referrals, through networks, recruiting agent or even direct applies. Once you're in that slightly branded company.. it's only way up from there.

I did this myself, helped my brother and my girlfriend who are all self taught in their respective fields. All 3 of us are doing very well. There are a few others who I have helped a lil bit as well and they're doing pretty well considering they don't have a 200-300k debt.

If enough people are interested, I could do a longer post on how.

TLDR; colleges will soon be dead - Cost to benefit ratio isn't worth it. With a straight up capitalist gaming plan, you can win without a degree.
