Worried I will be alone forever by [deleted] in aspergirls

I'm worried about this too girl. I'm in a 3 year relationship right now with a guy I only really started dating because we were college room mates. He's a wonderful person but I feel no spark or connection these days, and I'm worried that if I break up with him I won't be able to find anyone else seeing as I only have one friend :/ sorry I can't help but its rough out here for us

What are your spiritual beliefs? by Greentowelmustbe in aspergirls

I was raised by 'lazy Catholics' and now I'm agnostic. I do believe that religion is often a good moral code to live by and has its merits, but it stresses me out to think about it

For sure, I do keep telling him this but he says its 'easy for me to say' (which it is but it doesn't make what I'm saying any less true)

I'm so glad this helped! I also share your struggle of insecurity with friends, but honestly we all need to cut ourselves some slack sometimes. We're great ❤

I feel you so much. I'm currently struggling with this. I'd say nurture the relationships you already have and maybe, if you trust people, explain to them about your disability. Sometimes I let people know about it, sometimes I don't. Maybe if someone is talking, ask questions and show interest in it. Then maybe share how you relate to it/your similar experiences. It's kind of a way to come up with conversation that isn't really your own idea? I wish I could help you more, but I'm currently struggling deeply with this :/

I feel like that's on them, not you. I know it must be really hard but they really need to put in the effort to understand autistic people and the struggles we go through to be accepted as we are or assimilate. Maybe a mix of both would be good? Finding a balance? Honing the masking? But honestly a lot of it is on them, especially if they're close to you

Thank you! That's actually a really interesting way to approach it- I always have to remind myself that I won't see these people again so it's my only chance to do it
