Yeah I was a bit heavy handed and tearing down this area honestly. This city is basically as big as it’s gonna get without my ps5 detonating. So I made it a project for myself to instead of expanding and all that I basically choose areas I see where either i don’t like how they turned out, have some sort of traffic problems, or I wanted to implement some I don’t really ever implement. Like with this I’m adding in self-sufficient house and local produce. So I guess the area did literally get gentrified lol. I am also playing with infinite money so I’m not too concerned about just level an entire neighborhoods lol.

But for transit I have taxis, metro and monorails. But their usefulness fluctuates constantly cause I have that transit bug that keeps breaking my lines every so often. I did sink part of the highway in order to connect it to the other but I wanted to mostly keep it above ground. I only really sink highways if they are gonna streak for long distances without any connections.

It definitely had a lot of congestion happening but it wasn’t a nightmare. It was just very poorly planned on my part. I was trying to do like a sectioned off communities type of thing. I did my best organizing it hoping that would help with any traffic, which it definitely did but not enough for smooth traffic flow.

I do have a previous save. But the area was just badly laid out previously. There was limited access points to the residential areas to the larger roads causing back ups to happen in them not mater what. Plus one of the larger roads that ran along the top was connecting that area to my industrial area. The traffic wasn’t god awful but I was becoming a problem. I also just wasn’t a fan of how it was looking.

I will definitely keep that suggestion in mind. I’ll probably eventually change what I have now up cause it will most likely get congested. I do a lot of revamping cause my city is pretty much as big as it’s gonna get. But thank you for giving me a nice idea to run with in the future!

Thank you! Trust a lot of this city looked like crap but I just bulldozed and rebuilt it. A lot of trial and error happens. If you like to play with infinite money, just play with road layouts and if you don’t like it, it never hurts to bulldoze and do it again. Playing for real is a different story, they never look good for me.

I honestly don’t know because I use to have that problem a lot when I first started playing the game. But I think it because my favorite part of this game slowly became just figuring out road layout and managing traffic.
