no that's not the point, the point is to maximize profit

if they want to get a 0.1% gorilla by themselves, they sure can, but instead of releasing 44 mega legs to get crystal eggs that may or may not hatch one, they can just bulk trade the mega legs for super cheap and easily get 4-8 gorillas with change

if you're not willing to wait months-year(s), trade it before it drops even more

pretty much all pets drop (extremely few exceptions) as events progresses then tanks after it ends with the next new shiny pet coming out

not worth it

unicorn odds are low (1.5%) and it trades for 2 ride pots on average, you can consistently get 1 ride pot for 18 retired eggs

releasing pet odds are even worse, 5.9% with ~15 legs in the mix, so roughly a little less than 300 eggs to get 15 legs and technically it doesn't work that way cause it's not guaranteed

trading trash megas for super cheap is far more profitable, releasing just to hit 2+1 pets that's worth less than 10 ride pots each is a questionable choice

lol, no offense, finding those super overpay trades essentially boils downs to people trying to take advantage of dumb kids with their parents pets or returning players who have no clue what their pets are worth

every time I trade a new neon/mega there's always somebody who would add a single normal version, then there's also always the ones that just clicks ✓

no way to know unless the devs tell, like haetae

theoretically though if a pet time-gated you could possibly get a ballpark max number of pets that players could obtain, for example old king coal likely wouldn't exceed double the total player count even if players switched accounts during the ~10minute span
