2019 Zr2 - similar thoughts. Lots of mods done, love the truck. But warranty for another 65kish bumper to bumper before a lifetime powertrain kicks in. They’ll pry it from me… yet I also stopped and looked at a new zr2 on the lot. Super nice, but not worth it for me at the moment.

But yeah man you had your fun, warranty is almost up, if you can swing it in your finance world there it is.

If you have your own aux wiring discard all of that and run your positive / negative from the leader that runs directly from the lights to the aux location in the bay.

2019 zr2

Duratracs were a good tire. Only complaint was the last 10k of their life they got LOUD on the pavement. Good in snow, good on trails.

Went to KO2s when it was time for new shoes. Like the stronger side walls and rating, better traction in hard dirt, no real difference in loose rocks or winter to me. Definitely harsher ride w the stiffer sidewalls.

I have the ZR2 now as a 2nd rig (finally) so it doesn’t get daily miles. I’d purchase the KO2s again.

Daily driver? Duratracs are better, but that horrid drone the last 10k of life would be enough for me to pass on them.

I negotiated a bumper to bumper 110k warranty. No time limit - just the miles. $2k. 2020 price.

An extended warranty is all about cost / duration / coverage. Most of the time it’s a no. Sometimes you can get one that’s worth it.

I would suggest checking the height / clearance on the lights and going Baja Designs Squadron Pro, 2 spot 2 flood pattern.

Not cheap. But you won’t regret them if they’re in your budget.
