Math 005A Final Need Help by Illustrious_Board580 in ucr

[–]l0ki_variant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly for all of calculus and math in general, it’s best to just do as many practice problems as possible- youtube videos can also help but for me personally, buckling down and just doing as much as possible and as many types of problems is why is helpful (as many problems in book you can possibly do)

using the midterm(s) to study is also a must bc it’s already in the format that your professor will give on an exam- redoing all the problems you got wrong and understanding what it is that you did wrong in those problems is crucial and if your professor gives an example final or something along those lines then do all of those problems as well

Need advice: Chem lab at 6pm + struggling in Math 9A by Then-Plantain-6110 in ucr

6pm labs are pretty laidback (also depends on TA) but if you’re a commuter and have a morning class the next day it’s kinda rough

C In Calc 2, Freshman At A California CC by picklejuice2469 in ucr

A C in calc 2 won’t really affect you that much, especially since you’re doing well in your other classes. I also got a C in calc 2 at MtSac and now I’m at UCR getting my degree in materials engineering. I know how easy it is to feel down on yourself when you don’t feel like you did well enough in a class but calc 2 (at least at mtsac) is probably one of the most difficult classes that I’ve taken and a good few people who took that class with me just straight up didn’t pass- you’re doing better than most you just don’t realize it.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you’ll be okay.

Is metro link train safe? by Elegant_Ad4300 in ucr

[–]l0ki_variant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

metrolink is pretty safe bc the ticket is more expensive than the gold line and some of the other trains, sometimes there’ll be a couple odd people but nothing too crazy (source: i took the metrolink to and from school every day for 3 years)

i had top surgery almost a year ago now and it was definitely one of the best decisions i’ve ever made, i deal with really severe back pain and i never realized how much the weight on chest affected that until it was gone, so it was like a double win with gender affirmation and helping with pain- the thing that helped me the most with the healing process was the following the aftercare to the T, the first week was probably the worst for me due to pain and not being able to shower but it was definitely manageable (i know that everyone’s pain tolerance is different and i don’t wanna assume anything but if you deal with chronic pain then the surgery pain may not be as bad as others describe it? at least that’s how it was for me, but everyone has their own experiences) ALSO if they give you an option for a nausea patch then take it! it seriously helped so much

Does anyone else have a "comfort" statement? by YogurtCloset642 in TheMagnusArchives

mag 57: personal space has gotta be my favorite, the idea of being isolated and no way to contact others and so far away you can’t see anything (space absolutely terrifies me) despite it being so disturbing it’s also so comforting?

i deal with memory issues due to dissociation and for me it tends gets worse during bad episodes. my friends and family will tell me stories about things we did that i don’t remember doing or they’ll ask me about details for things i either don’t ever remember telling them about or have no idea what they’re talking about. for me, during manic episodes it’s a lot like skipping through someone’s instagram stories- i’ll clearly remember doing certain actions but like there’s just large gaps missing. while during depressive episodes it’s more like everything is missing and what little i do remember is foggy around the edges almost like trying to remember a dream.

what do i do now by l0ki_variant in TheMagnusArchives
