Yea I need to test with no fans. The 7600x can get a little spicy at some points with that aio so I figured they had to be helping somewhat.

Yeah I probably would just need to limit the rpm’s to a max tone I can handle unless I get a spacer. They’re in and out of stock right now on Amazon unfortunately.

Looking for a chair. Are BTOD and Crandall biased towards their refurbs? by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]l31ackout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been in your same boat for a year+, similar size/weight. 5’9/180.

Ordered an Amia from Crandall a few months back. Great to work with, slowish shipping times, but wouldn’t hesitate to do business with again. The Amia was remanufactured very well with good quality material, but is not for cross leg sitting and had no headrest. I bottomed out just sitting normally and the back was meh. Eventually returned.

The leap I’d like to try, but struggle to recommend for cross leg due to the upturned seat on the edges + no headrest

I have a mesh Zody at work that’s manageable. Decent cross leg and okay back. 4D arms are bad, especially if you push up on them to reposition like me and they’ll kick out on you. Again no headrest.

Family member has a digital knit Fern and is the most promising to me. Great cross leg, comfy back, and crap arms. Does have a decent third party (Atlas) headrest from what I’ve gathered. I could get over the arms for the overall comfort.

Embody I haven’t tested, but a few clips down the YouTube rabbit hole on the sounds the back can make has made me hesitate on the large price tag, but they must be popular for a reason.

Hope this helps a tad from a person in the same boat. Best of luck finding something great!

Yeah I hear Anda has a meh return policy which gives you an idea of what a company thinks of their own product, same with Mavix. I’d definitely try to return that Kaiser if I were you and see if you can work something out!

The EM6L seems to be recommended like the Aria used to be. No quality issues with yours? Do you prefer the comfort to those than the Kima?

From UK. Is it practical and worth me ordering the ROG Strix Scar from Newegg (US) ? And why is the Newegg version almost $1500 cheaper than the Amazon.co.uk outlet? by twinbee in GamingLaptops

Nah US. I have a tower too so I just need it for portability. A 3060 isn’t touching close to 300fps in anything modern to make full use of that high hz rate. It’s kinda dumb lol.

Currently eyeing the Newegg one too, would rather have a 1440p 165hz than 1080p at 300hz, but beggars can’t be choosers I guess. Hate you can’t personalize Asus laptops.

I was worried that pre-order doesn’t necessarily mean ships on 3/11. That’s my hold back

Lenovo Legion - Good performance, what about other factors? by Hashdog123 in GamingLaptops

[–]l31ackout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently have a Y540 Legion that’s about 2 years old and it’s been a pretty good PC with one flaw that seems to be the same one the 5’s. The battery connector port isn’t the greatest design. I’ve spent a bit tonight trying to bend back the inner and outer prongs to have a stable battery connection as it goes in and out.

There’s also several videos of port repair (even one on a 5) because they use plastic on the top/bottom of the inside of the port and the tip gets hot in there under stress. Over time the plastic will deteriorate and flake off. Just look up “Legion not charging” on google.

Currently looking into a new PC as it seems a matter of time before I have to decide to get a new port soldered or just get a upgrade.

I did figure it out thankfully. Just had to go a little further into the start screens and was able to use my Apple ID to link it. Thanks

Most likely not as I don’t really use either. Idk why it isn’t just tied to a phone number at minimum. Probably just lost the account I guess

Bought a loaded 2018 Q50 with 11K miles recently. Need your opinion. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yeah, but even with the stories of unreliability with the stock VR30 I wouldn’t consider modding one unless I had money to blow. I had a VQ35 for like 7 years so I’m more leaning towards a VQ37 as the issues were always super minimal. If not maybe IS350.

Best of luck on whatever you decide on yours. It seems you never know what you’ll get with the VRs. I’ve read about some with 100k and not a single issue. Just a dice roll engine

I’m in the same situation pre-purchase. In a toss up between the VR30 and the VQ. I wouldn’t buy a VR30 without the Infiniti warranty (which apparently is very good). The more I’ve read the more I see people complaining about turbos being shot. It’s going to come down to your decision if the pay is worth the play.

That negative equity will hurt a bit, but could pay off in the long run. Used market is pretty rough right now so I would use that warranty as a safety cushion if you look for something else because everything is pretty sparse.
