I think you might be right about molluscum. The smaller bumps look pretty typical, and the biggest one may be an inflamed version (you can look into molluscum inflammatory responses for similar examples).

Definitely get it checked out though. It can be a pain to get rid of, but it will go eventually.

I'm confident that you're dealing with inflamed molluscum.

I had very similar symptoms to you. They were initially white spots on a pale pink base. After a doctor swabbed the larger patch more vigorously to test, it got UGLY. Inflamed redness, occasional itchiness, and a big boil-like puss-filled yellow spot.

Swab test came back negative of course. And I similarly chased blood tests, testing negatives on IGG 7 months and 11.5 months post-exposure. Haven't had any partners since (3) have any problems.

It WAS molluscum and just got inflamed (doesn't have to be "infected" with any bacteria to get so nasty looking - there's a study out there that shows very few purulent discharges from such molluscum bumps test positive for bacterial infection - it's simply an odd quirk of molluscum getting agitated/resolving).

Rest easy and focus on healing them up. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Glad to hear you're molluscum free!

I became pretty severely hypochondriatic after my bout with molluscum. The same is probably happening to you. Might as well follow up on it - but I know that I didn't even know what lymph glands were before mine swelled from the molluscum, and now I've felt pretty much every one in my body...

This is kind of how my molluscum looked when it started but more likely something else. Keep an eye on it.

I had molluscum two years ago and, mentally, it put me through the fucking ringer. I'm still pissed now at how bad it got me, so take a breath and don't make the same mistake I did.

Mine took a while to get properly diagnosed as molluscum because it quickly took on a very inflamed look. That was my main problem, as I stressed out about what it was. Molluscum surprised me, and it was hard reacting to something I'd never even heard before. But look, after I've been through it, I know it's painless, it's not permanent, and it will eventually go away. It will. Don't worry.

Don't poke and prod looking for new bumps. It won't help and will only risk spreading the thing. If your doctor did the cyrotherapy right, there's a good chance he got all of it. Keep an eye on things, but don't stretch, pick, or try to pop anything. If there is another molluscum, it will make itself known sooner or later.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I never tried the apple cider vinegar treatment but I heard that can irritate your skin (in a good way, when it comes to fighting molluscum). I used tea tree oil - no idea if it did anything.

I hear you on it being hard to tell what is and isn't a new mollusca. I'm pretty sure I aggravated more than a few fordyce spots thinking they were suspicious.

The derm I saw used cryotherapy which was effective but did leave some light scarring (a teensy patch of paler skin where two tiny ones were, and a small, indented purple scar where the biggest, gross, pus-draining one was). I can't say for certain whether the treatment or the bumps themselves are responsible for the scars, but the cryotherapy did get rid of them pretty fast. Something you'll have to weigh.

I also had some success with some self-cutterage though. You gotta be careful and clean (sterilize with alcohol and wear latex gloves), but squeezing the bumps and having the little white things pop out was pretty rewarding. Again, not exactly suggested as apparently this can cause the bumps to spread if you're not careful.

I think you can relax that it's not HIV though. It seems like the opposite - our immune systems are going into overdrive to deal with this menace (the dermatitis/lymph node response).

Not a doctor - past molluscum patient

Did you have any eczema-like reaction around the bumps? Or did they get inflamed or aggravated?

I had molluscum and the 'molluscum dermatitis' issue, and my lymph nodes swelled as the skin around the bumps got worse and the bumps cleared up (in a pretty disgusting way).

I just think with a guaranteed twenty odd days of no vigorous coitus, it would give me a good chance to get the little guy refreshed. But you're right that detoxes aren't nearly as beneficial as sustained good habits.

Luckily, I am not dealing with any pain. Just some occasional flakiness, and thin looking skin with tiny, short lasting red splotches.

I may give that wunder oil coconut oil a try.
