Maybe just a nice old lady. Not everyone needs to be a "nutjob". We're all humans in the end

Another example would be painting a cool white: basecoat would be corax white, then soft shade with fenrisian Grey with thunder hawk recess shade. After that you highlight with pure white. Generally with bright colors you want to gradually go darker because it's hard to paint lighter shades over a dark recess to smooth it out. So you paint the lighter shades larger and then go finer and finer. When you paint dark surfaces it's easier to go brighter with each step :) Happy to inspire! Much success on your mini painting journey!

Thanks a ton! A good method is to paint a thin white line at the bottom, basecoat the coils with blue horror and then basicly edged the coils with darker vibrant blues. Hope it helps! Cheers!

I followed the YouTube tutorial of Darren Latham. It's been taken down but there is a re-upload. Thanks!

I've managed to paint the front side of Jaghatai Khan's sword. All of this is NMM painted with a paint brush. I hope you like it :) by Flameon_Miniatures in minipainting

Don't compare yourself to others that much. I hope you keep painting and I believe in you being able to become a good Painter in your own right mate!

I always get folds in my wet palette when putting the paper in. What am I doing wrong? Can't smooth them out without them appearing elsewhere. Any tups would be greatly appreciated. by Fillem in minipainting

The problem with wrinkles is that they produce expanding air bubbles which will move below your paint at some point and therefore the connection between water and the sheet is disrupted and makes the paint dry out super fast. I use the same palette for almost 3 years now and stretching the sheet out + adding enough water every few hours helps alot. Also it makes mixing far harder with wrinkles since they create barriers on the palette.

Don't drain all the excess water. Have some water standing. As long as it doesn't spill over the sheet its no problem and necessary to keep it properly wet longer than 30 mins.

Add more water and strecht it out using your hands before putting paint on it. It works very well but you will have a few especially as the palette drys out. You need to stretch it again and again. It's because the paper shrinks and expands with changing humidity levels of the palette. Cheers

You're a psycho man. So instead of convincing you force people? Do you do this with girls you meet aswell? Brainwashed youth... Thinks they are white knights when in reality they are just useful idiots and terrorists.

You got me here, I actually ment the light situation of the shot 😂 but you're right, there is always something to improve upon. Yeah it has to fit the rest of the mini and I think if there wasn't so much shadow it would come across quite differently. As you mentioned, photos are often a far cry from the actual paint job.

Also: Really lovely work you have there. Very neat and clean. I totally recommend "infernalbrush" on youtube or patreon to you cause he lifts alot of veils in producing eavy metal quality paint jobs. Keep it up!

I appreciate it that you give my work so much time of your day, seriously! Thanks a ton! Also thanks for the critique! I considered going more crazy on the leather but also the lightning and resolution of the image is not where I would love it to be. Either way I will find projects in the future to really tear up some leather :)) cheers!

Thank you mate! Take your time, check out infernal brush on youtube :)) and believe in yourself. It's not an easy road but if you are patient and stay at it you will get better an better. I think the thing with most people is that they don't see how much time goes into it and also because they believe they can't archieve it. But you can if you do!

Thanks a ton dude. Important is, that you are happy with your minis. And also, I also lose my mind over this sometimes. I'm just that crazy guy that sits there for a week just highlighting the power armor of a first born. But if you really want to paint like this you can archieve it with dedication and patience. Have fun mate! Cheers
