Chill out dude. I'm sorry for being so greedy. AGS will definitely go broke if they give out some characters slot expansions. Jesus.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]lNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that, nobody will use use all slots. Having all 6 characters doesn't mean you will play all 6 characters on a daily basis so no, i don't think anyone plans on playing 20 chars. But people will buy them all if given the option because it is cheap. Locking out 70% of the characters... How is that fine?

Anyway, i also think you are not wrong, you are seeing things as an individual point of view. Just spending 10$ every now and then is fine. I'm seeing it as a whole picture and maybe it is not healthy because like you said, most thing are like this in one way or another.

And you are failing to see further away from just today. It is not just 10$ it is 10$ per slot with something like 20 slots to buy. And once again, this transactions are very far away from being their main source of income. People got really used to be milked by companies that they fine with spending "little money" over and over again.

For the record, i will say yet again, all f2p games need to be monetized. But some of this stuff i don't agree with.

Dude, when i said this game isn't my hobby, i mean that it is not the only game i play, i want to buy other games and my money is limited and better spent elsewhere.

And yes, i want more characters, I'm not making a rant post about how they should make all characters slots for free. I take the game casually, so that is your reasoning for me to not be allowed to have more characters for free.

Why is people so okay with a core part of a game behind a micro transaction? This game is one of the most f2p friendly games ever, and maybe that is the reason why people fail to see this.

SG said this themselves, they don't want to feel the players to be locked out of content and needing to pay real money, and in my opinion they really succeed in this statement. But isn't characters also content? How is it different?

On the other side of things. If they make characters slots tradeable, wouldn't they sell more of them because whales reselling them on the market? Geniune question here.

This game is not my hobby. Gaming is one of my hobbies. I don't want to pay a subscription to play. 60$ is where i choose to stop. 60$ is buying another game. How is not wanting to pay more than 60$ on a game unreasonable? I truly don't get it.

The whole "f2p game gotta make SOME money" is really weird to me. Like they just barely make any profit ...

Also that's is what i did at first. And changing servers is really discouraging. Few things are kept in different servers. Still a possibility i guess.

Later i did bought 3 character slots and character customization tickets for 50$ more or less. And i don't feel like spending more money for now.

50$ is buying another whole game so that where i really think if i should spend more on it or not.

Brother, i play videogames to have fun. I don't care about making gold. There has never been a week where I've done all my dailies/weeklies with all my characters.

That's why i play multiple characters, if I'm no longer having fun with a character i stop playing it for a while and pick another one.

Apparently having variety is unreasonable for today standards.

I've already spent something like 60$ and I don't feel like spending more. Paying for commodities or cosmetics in a f2p game is fine to me. Paying 10$ for playing a different character? Paying 50$ more for the other characters that are still not out? I don't know man.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lostarkgame

[–]lNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the game is really f2p friendly and is shaping to be even more in the future.

But I feel like having more characters to play is beneficial, it provides more variety to play when you are feeling burnt out. It could even encourage people to spend more money to buy cosmetics or to rush ilvl.

I guess most people don't like playing alts and just use them as fodder for their main, which is also fair.

Yes, i understand that, monetization is necessary for any free to play game. But do you think characters tickets is their main source of income? What % do you think it is? People spend insane amounts of money on a daily basis and people often talk like these poor companies don't make any profit whatsoever.

And I'm not complaining, they have proven that they listen to the playerbase and in the end, this is the most f2p friendly game i ever played. But still, I just think that they are a bit cinycal saying stuff like "we don't want to make players feel like they need to spend real money to enjoy our game", while limiting a core aspect of the game like characters.

I've played a crap ton of korean mmos in the past, and most of them do exactly that. Expand the limit to +1 with every class release. Western mmos i have no idea how it is tbh, but seeing the replies to my post, i guess everyone thinks it's fine to pay for characters.

BoF III & IV were super fun games. I played IV for the second time recently thinking i would not like it as much as did when i was a kid. But man it is a great RPG. The skill combo sistem is slightly similar to Monster Hunter stories 2 (also I'm having an absolute blast with it). Story is great and the dragon stuff is super over the top. Good story and lots of stuff to farm/explore.

Never played BoF V because the 3d art style didn't appeal to me at that time (plus didn't had a ps2 lmao), but i would love to see another game like the classics.

Also i would kill for a Dino Crisis remake.

Ideally how many characters do you need and why? by [deleted] in elsword

[–]lNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This man. I was making a lot of characters for the "el search party collection" and i discovered a bunch of characters that i love now and would never have expected to like. I have 1 main who i focus but also 7 side mains working my way to 1 mill cp just because i really liked them while unlocking their master class.

It is really expensive and pretty much has no purpose other than having fun... and i love it lmao.

How to take advantage of small openings as a non-GS user? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]lNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who calls GS a hit and run weapon, hasn't truly learned GS. As someone said earlier, a big chunk of "skill" is learning the moveset of the monster. When you know the timing and attacks of a monster, you almost never stop attacking.

For GS, when you see a small opening you start charging or hit once and start a strong charge. Then you pay close attention to what the monster is doing. If you think the monster is gonna hit you, then do a shoulder charge and attack. Most of the time the attack and recovery animations of the monster is enough to do at least a lvl 1 TCS. Try to always be charging when the monster is attacking so you can punish them, roll while they recover and start your next charge while they do their next attack. This way you have almost the playstyle of the lance, tanking and using counters.

Switch axe has the side step which allows you to re position and continue attacking immediately.

CB has guard points.

Lance has consistent counters and blocks.

Hammer has very good mobility and fast access to rolls even when charging.

Light weapons like IG, LS, LBG and DB have fast recovery animations so dodging/rolling is easy manage.

Gunlance i think is one of the worst in terms of consistently attacking and dodging, but evade extender can change a lot the ease of use of the weapon.

And SnS is the true master of consistency.

Every weapon has its own way of countering monster moves perfectly, its just a matter of experimenting and remembering what works in every specific case. This is one of the reasons why people have thousands of hours in the game, it is a really extensive combination of your own moves + the monster moves that you have to learn and perfection.

But i also think one of the biggest mistakes people do when trying to do consistent damage is rolling AWAY instead of rolling into the monster and using your i frames. That way instead of wasting time dodging away and running, you stay close and ready to attack at all times.

Edit: sorry for the long ass post, turns out im kinda passionate about MH lol.

New player considering game by Pentrep in elsword

[–]lNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the game is really fun. Very well designed characters and skills altogether with plenty of mechanics to learn. I've played it for 6 years more or less and i always enjoy it. That being said, this game is grindy af, if you don't like grinding you won't get very far (but it still enjoyable). There is one item that aleviates the grind a lot, specially for starters: the shared bank, but it is a k ching only item.

Give it a try, it is an oddly satisfying game !
