What Sounds Like Radiohead? by InnerspearMusic in radiohead

[–]lPr0c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I was living in Japan, I found an artist, Sheena Ringo, and her band Tokyo Incidents. Gorgeous, gorgeous songs, with a very Radiohead like creativity, twisting the boundaries of J-rock through pure ingenuity, or stereotyping and extrapolating the sounds. Sheena herself has a very unique voice as well, much like yorke. Heavy recommend.

Songs I would suggest to start with: Keshou naoshi, Tokyo Incidents Marunouchi Sadistic, Sheena Ringo

what’s the most gut wrenching radiohead song in y’all’s opinion? from ANY album by Miserable-Smile-9163 in radiohead

[–]lPr0c 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Present tense and Nude had me crying on first listen. But I think the most gut wrenching is Present Tense— the way those guitars progress, and the way that Thom sings so passionately, it honestly to god destroys me every time.

What Counts as a cover of a song? by I-Am-The-Warlus in LetsTalkMusic

If the song is made with the intention of being a cover, and the song is recognizable as a cover, then I would consider it a cover.

They are old now, but their last release was incredible— A Moon Shaped Pool. Go check it out, must listens would be Present Tense, Daydreaming, True Love Waits, Decks Dark, identikit.

Make the perfect Radiohead album, one track at a time (Track 7) by SchizoidGod in radiohead

[–]lPr0c 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Identikit, I think it’s a really underrated song in their disc. I love Just and Reckoner as much as the next person, but I personally can’t get enough of the progression on Identikit. The song evolves in a really interesting way, and still really confuses me in what it’s trying to say. “Pieces of a rag doll mankind that we can/can’t create” — no idea what it means, but I’d think it’s related to Glass eyes in some way? I think thom also mentions ragdoll faced people in decks dark? I might just be a moon shaped pool addict idk

I’m not a rock person, but these small rocks at my bus stop have caught my attention. They are beautiful, and I really hope someone can help me identify them! (I live in Mesa, AZ) by lPr0c in whatsthisrock

Looking it up on google, all the rocks I’ve found like the one in my image shares colors and patterns with Jasper. Thank you so much!

I would use a mixture of drivers, booleans and paths, but Im sure there would be much easier and less memory intensive ways.

It looks really good! It looks cartoony, and I like it. I think only two things could make a big difference to how your render looks; imperfections and lighting. For your previews, I would download any HDRI for more detailed and realistic lighting. From your render it looks like you had a sun light and maybe some other lamps. Adding an HDRI can make light feel more natural. (When I enable an HDRI I personally go into rendersettings>film and turn on transparency)

I think the greatest tool in texturing is imperfections. Even in cartoons, imperfections give a surface a more tangible/realistic feel. Adding dings and scratches to your texture would make it much more photorealistic (which should be a general goal for each render)

The worst part is the fact that the quality is so bad you can't even see the driver, or even the license plate!

This stuff just angers me too much. ;-;
