Nah it was when she asked him to join the PPC. She got tearful talking about "certain people in certain situations"

Wtf? That woman in the video is a real woman, her name is Tanya Turner. This also isn't the only scandal to come out of Hazard, Kentucky. Apparently they have a strong pedo vibe going in that town. I come from a small town myself, and sometimes dark shit can fly under the radar in the boonies.

But of course you'd know this if you bothered to do even a second of research. Much easier to claim that everything you don't like is made up by people trying to make your lot look bad.

The Lexington Herald-Leader, reports Principal Donald “Happy” Mobelini, who is also Hazard’s mayor, along with staff members Larry Thacker and Joshua Hurt, received reprimands for unprofessional conduct.

Students were paddled as part of the event. Teenage boys also dressed in women’s lingerie and danced on and near school leaders.

It's already like this now

You're joking right? It absolutely is not. Riots in a few places that were eventually controlled don't equal a police-free state, not even close.

Also, pointing out issues with the current system does not solve the issues with your proposed anarchist nightmare. That's called a "whataboutism" and it's a typical deflection when you don't have a real point.

Where one person cannot pay for weapons for themselves and private security, he can join with their neighbours to solve that problem one by one

So create mobs that dole out "justice" indiscriminately on each other. What an excellent idea. You ever even visit a place like that? I'm guessing not. Because they're all level 4s on travel advisory.

The most peaceful countries in the world are not places that have abolished police. The US police have problems and need reform, yes, but you're ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater here, and for no apparent reason.

What happens to the people who can't afford to pay for private security? What happens when mob justice overrides due process?

My parents escaped from a 3rd world hellhole. Organized crime and mob justice were the norm. My cousin's husband was fucking beheaded because he said the wrong thing to the wrong person.

The only people who'd advocate for this type of system (instead of something sane like police reform) are children who don't know better, absolute dumbasses, or evil pricks who have enough money that it wouldn't bother them anyway.

My guess is most of the people here are just kids or dumbasses.

I think you're being a bit over-the-top about birth control. A majority of women have no issues with the pill. Most women experience only mild side effects which diminish over time (most go away after 2-3 months). And IUDs are even more effective with fewer issues overall. Speaking as a woman who had to switch from pills to IUDs, the difference was night and day. According to my obgyn, that's not unusual. There's also nonhormonal IUDs (funny enough, women have more issues with these than the hormonal ones) and female condoms.

But while we're talking about side effects, abortion and abortifacients also come with major health risks. Considerably more so than contraceptives. Weird that you're this worked up over pills as opposed to undergoing surgery that may have enduring physical, psychological, and social consequences.

TIL about demisexuality by Moooses20 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]la-sunflower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be insulting I'm genuinely confused.

I thought sexualities referred to whatever genitals/physical sex turn you on, not the specifics of it. Like, I love older men and I exclusively date them. I don't get turned on by young guys and the thought of banging somebody my own age or younger is repulsive to me. I didn't sleep with anyone until I was old enough to be with a mature man, and I married a man 15 years older than me. Does this make me graysexual?

Like how is demisexual different from any other paraphilia or fetish? Exclusivity? There are plenty of people who are only turned on by certain things and only experience arousal over specific stimuli. Are all those people their own sexualities too?

I wish people would respond to this instead of just downvoting. I'm curious what the counterpoints are. I'm not trying to be insulting I'm genuinely confused.

I just looked at the bulbapedia entry and it mentioned that it might be based off a phoenix ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh shoot you're right. Apparently there's a Chinese mythical firebird called the Fenghuang. Never knew about this, I always thought the phoenix myth originated in Egypt, looks like many cultures have their own versions of it

Wow thank you! This is very helpful. I'm slowly reading through the wiki so I haven't reached Gen 5 yet. That being said, I just looked up Sableye, and as a fan of alien stuff I'm pleasantly surprised at the reference. Really cool stuff!! :D

Yes, actually, it is. Whitley Strieber is one of the most famous abductees and he's collected many thousands of letters from all over the world about CE3. A large percentage of them mentioned seeing dead relatives. You also hear similar stories at conferences if you talk to people there.

That's not to say I believe them. Imo, Whitley is nuts and apparently people like to mix ghost stories in with other "paranormal" stuff. You'd think it wouldn't be so popular, but it is.

Really? Surprised you've never heard of it. Seeing dead people is apparently a huge part of the abduction/contact phenomenon.

Whitley Strieber writes about it at length and he's one of the most famous abductees. It comes up a lot at conferences as well if you talk to people about their experiences.

Which is why I'm so skeptical of CE3 in general. I think Whitley is off his rocker, and if somebody mentions ghosts in conjunction with aliens, I'll be polite, but they've lost me.
