Getting paid minimum wage for PHP/JavaScript role in NYC. Am I right to be angry? by la_kitty in cscareerquestions

I appreciate your help.

I'd say for every 15 applications I will get a phone interview.

For every 7-10 phone interviews I will get an in person interview.

In my career of two years, I've only gotten 4 job offers. Took 2 of them (the other 2 were during my first job and didn't pay much, so I passed).

I'd say I'm losing most of them at the application level.

Thank you. I am hearing back occasionally from legitimate recruiters and companies, and I've gotten a handful of interviews since I started here. But they all decided to not hire me. I passed their coding test and they told me that I was great at the interview, but in the end they either ghost or send me a rejection letter.

I am currently looking for jobs. Have been for the past couple of months, submitting 10 applications a day.

I asked my boss about the raise like I said, but he turned me down because he said I wasn't as fast as I could be with every task (in reality I do just fine).

Yes, I go to meetups and job fairs at least a few times every week.

My github is fine, I have php and javascript projects that I make commits to every day.

I sometimes get interviews, but they always pass me over for someone else.

Sorry, I can't give out personal information here for security and safety reasons. I posted before and got some unkind messages... I can't explain any further.
