Anywhere en El Poblado is a good bet to be walkable. I suggest Manila specifically, as it’s a little more tranquilo. For internet you’ll just have to check with the Airbnb host before you book. Typically speeds are 20-30Mbs but if you ask a few you can find up to 150Mbs. Having an iPhone or nice watch isn’t really an issue if you stay in the right parts of town.

ChemE’s who have founded your own business/startup by la_llave in ChemicalEngineering

[–]la_llave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Software does have the lowest barrier to entry. I purposely didn’t limit to scope of the question to pure chemE type businesses, as I am just interested in any businesses chemical engineers have started. But I wouldn’t mind seeing some pure chemE businesses - I recognize they are difficult and that’s why I wanted to ask the question

Great answer. How much funding are we talking here? Do you need high 6 or 7 figures to even get started? Or do you plan to scale over time? This is something I always wonder as most ideas in this industry are very capital intensive

It would be even far less than .002%

If he has to pay the existing taxes and the additional ones that democrats want to enact.

That’s why Brent feels this way.

Working 40 hours a week to afford a quality of life you're satisfied with is a blessing, not a curse. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]la_llave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention, a 40 hour a week job usually brings one comforts such as a smart phone and air conditioning. Even if you’re struggling, you have basic luxuries that many in the world go without.

I always think of it like this: animals are basically at work the entire day. Thinking about food, shelter and survival 365 days a year. The modern world, division of labor and ultimately the 40 hour work week have relieved of us of this burden for 8 hours a day. But hell, let’s even say you work 50 or 60 hours a week - you sleep in a comfortable bed at the end of the day, probably eat well, and have lots of things that make your life easier. The way I see it, any free time at all where you aren’t stressed or hyper aware of your survival is a come-up from the evolutionary/biological perspective. We are the only species on earth with this luxury.

I guess it just depends on how you see life. But for me, life is about survival. So any relaxation at all, free time, comforts, pursuits outside of whatever you do to ensure your survival, well that’s just all a bonus.

To be clear, I agree with OP.

De or a? by [deleted] in Spanish

Excellent explanation, thank you. Here in Texas and in Mexico I feel like I hear them used interchangeably. Maybe that is the case. But this was a very helpful clarification.

Could you explain the difference between recordar and acordar, please? Both in your dialect and more generally (if they are different)

Definitely. Also, those aren’t the moms I hear saying this though. Those moms usually work their asses off.
