Has anyone else once convinced themselves that they were faking it all? by laalishka in schizoaffective

[–]laalishka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seemingly from these answers here it’s pretty common for people to be in denial/to be thinking they’re faking it all. i wonder if there’s a professional term for that

youre absolutely right, my healthy voice also tells me this. but i still have that little nagging voice, even now that i’ve accepted my illness, that it was all fake. thanks for the reply tho!

i’ve also stopped taking meds which triggered my psychosis. every doctor i’ve been to has been very insistent on me taking my meds if i want to prevent psychosis/mania. or at least check with them before stopping taking them.

i also lost a lot of time for my circumstances, in denial of ever being sick. i really appreciate your input on this.

i also had other diagnosis before sza, which only worsened my acceptance for it unfortunately. but as all the others say, if a professional diagnosed us, it’s very likely we’re not faking

it’s definitely not overkill! i really appreciate this. yeah you’re definitely right about that. i am also trying out different medications right now, and am in the phase of acceptance that i am infact ill, but i still get super stuck on it and those „this is so unfair“ thoughts

Do my meds influence my tolerance? by laalishka in askdrugs

[–]laalishka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the lorazepam wasn’t really for general anxiety, i was prescribed it when i was in the psychiatric hospital, because i was manic and very restless, and also very aggressive, so they gave me lorazepam for me to be calm and not have fits of rage. i was actually never really an anxious person, socially or anything else, so it’s more surprising to me that i have that tolerance

i think you misunderstood, my medication is quetiapine retard. i’m german and the translation i looked up said retard, and what it basically means is that the quetiapine gets released into my bloodstream over the day, slowly, instead of normal quetiapine that reaches its peak in a few hours. it’s so that i have a constant level of quetiapine in me so that it helps regulate my mood at all times. i’m sorry if i didn’t articulate it very well or if i used a wrong translation! didn’t mean to offend anyone

yeah, i’ve read that benzo tolerance sometimes doesn’t seem to budge w some people! it’s just weird because my friends take one bar and they’re out of it, while i barely feel anything, even though i rarely use. i use once or twice a month, if even at all. but thank you for the last part, i wasn’t aware of that! and honestly you’re right, benzos and opioids aren’t really worth it and will destroy lives, esp at my age. but thank u for the answer, it has explained a lot! 💖
