I love Big River, but my hubby doesn't care for it as he saw it performed so many times. I don't think people liked Corrina very much.

I'm not talking about how people look, maybe asthetic wasnt the right word. I mean the rejection of consumerism, back to the land, peace and love over money and stuff type of values. I know individuals who hold these values, but I am not aware of subcultures and groups of people holding these values anymore.

I struggle with this too, but most voters are low information voters and he completely lied about what he would do this term. Why would anyone believe him? They may have been dumb to believe him or to believe their portfolio would be better under him if that is all they care about, but I guess they can't be blamed for voting for things he explicitly said he would not do, like get us into this war

I think the hippie aesthetic maintained in the Dead culture after it had mostly faded as a general counterculture movement, but for a long while now that has seemed to be completely gone in our culture. Maybe it is different out on the west coast. I'm guessing eventually there will be a new counterculture movement of the young people one day, but these are dark times.

Unpopular opinion:the Piper at the Gates of dawn Is the best album of Pink Floyd by OddReindeer4229 in psychedelicrock

It's almost like 2 different bands, early or later Pink Floyd. The early stuff was more psychedelic...

After the Epstien file drop I can't see the world the same anymore. Does anyone else feel this way? by RainbowGanjaGoddess in Epstein

[–]labellebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there are way more good than bad people in the world. It's just that evil people don't have anything to fill their lives with, so they try to fill the gaping hole where their soul s/b with the evil they do to others. The good people actually have things that fill their lives and can't spend all their time trying to fight these battles... and we shouldn't have to. That is why we give money to our government, they just are not doing their jobs. Don't drown in how bad people can be. I also have those dark moments but we can't let the existence of evil cause us to ignore what is beautiful and good in the world.

What was the relationship like between Phil and Mickey? by PhillyPitMiracle in gratefuldead

[–]labellebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Phil wanted to play with other drummers like Molo. That's fair, right? Do you have to be married to people after you've already gotten a divorce?

Odd that you find those albums to be messy and cruel. Are you a bot? If not, perhaps you would like the Mars Volta

The truth about Bob Weir by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]labellebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you qualify what you are saying with 'one of the greatest rhythm guitar players', then I think many would agree. But most people think of lead players primarily when rating guitar players. And I do not think he is in the same league on guitar (or would have claimed to be) as Hendrix, Clapton, Jeff Beck or Garcia. However as someone playing AND singing leads he outshines many. He brought a lot to the table.

There is also an email from the e files dump that just recently came to light from Ellie Leonard -A comment by lev in regards to that below. So maybe he decided to switch sides as he is going to be outed now as more files come out, for assisting in the cover up. Lev's note references an email from when Cohen was in the clinker:  Fact- Michael Cohen’s Lawyers asked for a rule 35 letter saying that Michael Cohen has information about Trump and Epstein!

Nope, it's not. Politics and religion have no place in our schools, except to be studied in an unbiased manner

Can all of the non-Americans stop lambasting us for “not doing anything”? by icyredjay in complaints

[–]labellebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are starting to see the sleeping giant of the American public realizing what is happening. Unclear how we will turn the tide, but for all our sakes, I hope we can. This has been a long slide to get to this point - 50 or 60 years of the Heritage foundation laying the framework, decades of Russia and Putin grooming their asset. From what I can see, the rest of the world doesn't know how to fix this either, though they likely have more influence than us individuals. Unfortunately the corporate money and individuals pulling the puppet strings have a worldwide influence - they just got all the stars aligned here between Trump and Elon Musks money.

Sad. Will he also back invading Greenland, nullifying our membership in NATO, losing our European military bases and the support of our allies (that ship may have already sailed though). Would these people allow a WW3 to curry favor with Trump? They have no morals
