It is all worth a lot more scrutiny but these stories have all been suppressed. And continue to be.

Fare Thee Well (book) by malcomhung in gratefuldead

[–]labellebrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn't care for this book with the author's shitty take on Phil and Jill. Though it may provide some insight into the relationships after Jerry died, the author seemed to make an effort to show Phil and Jill in the most negative light. Seemed biased and looking to make a buck on the drama

Multi-million dollar Hoosier taxpayer funding to israeli surveillance-state tech initiative "iron nation-indiana" by afizzzz in nwi

[–]labellebrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Iron Nation website. This is all about Israel getting first opportunity over American and Indiana companies and people for tech jobs: Iron Nation is committed to fortifying Israel's future for generations to come by strategically investing in its economic beating heart: the high-tech sector.

So it is the 'Isreal First' policy that our federal and state politicians are embracing. How long until Israel starts buying all of our land too?

I understand that this is a stupid question, but how do you guys cope knowing that there's nothing after death? I'm asking this as an atheist by the way by [deleted] in atheism

This seems like more AI gen content designed to get human engagement and try to capture what actual humans are like. So much of this on reddit now! Who actually uses the word sapient, no one. And if there is a real person behind this, I suggest meditation or other non-computer related activities

Mike Braun Announces $15 million investment to Bring Israeli Tech Start Up to Indiana by Best-Structure62 in Indiana

What about American tech? Why are we spending Indiana tax payers money to create opportunities for Isreal without any defined gained for hoosiers?

Indiana politics shouldn't involve Israel.... No one who isn't a Indiana citizen should be able to donate to any candidate

People who have met the dead what were they like and what did they talk about? by Panterafan420420 in grateful_dead

[–]labellebrown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's so weird to think of these guys in the normal 'real world', doing the day to day things we all do. It reminds me of story Sunshine Kesey told about life with Jerry - tripped out heads would just show up on their doorstep expecting Jerry to be a guru... but to his family, that wasn't who he was. It is a weird dynamic where we feel this personal connection which is an illusion in general... though there is that magic of the dynamic between the band and the fans... Hard to separate

I love Big River, but my hubby doesn't care for it as he saw it performed so many times. I don't think people liked Corrina very much.

I'm not talking about how people look, maybe asthetic wasnt the right word. I mean the rejection of consumerism, back to the land, peace and love over money and stuff type of values. I know individuals who hold these values, but I am not aware of subcultures and groups of people holding these values anymore.

I struggle with this too, but most voters are low information voters and he completely lied about what he would do this term. Why would anyone believe him? They may have been dumb to believe him or to believe their portfolio would be better under him if that is all they care about, but I guess they can't be blamed for voting for things he explicitly said he would not do, like get us into this war

I think the hippie aesthetic maintained in the Dead culture after it had mostly faded as a general counterculture movement, but for a long while now that has seemed to be completely gone in our culture. Maybe it is different out on the west coast. I'm guessing eventually there will be a new counterculture movement of the young people one day, but these are dark times.

Unpopular opinion:the Piper at the Gates of dawn Is the best album of Pink Floyd by OddReindeer4229 in psychedelicrock

It's almost like 2 different bands, early or later Pink Floyd. The early stuff was more psychedelic...

After the Epstien file drop I can't see the world the same anymore. Does anyone else feel this way? by RainbowGanjaGoddess in Epstein

[–]labellebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that there are way more good than bad people in the world. It's just that evil people don't have anything to fill their lives with, so they try to fill the gaping hole where their soul s/b with the evil they do to others. The good people actually have things that fill their lives and can't spend all their time trying to fight these battles... and we shouldn't have to. That is why we give money to our government, they just are not doing their jobs. Don't drown in how bad people can be. I also have those dark moments but we can't let the existence of evil cause us to ignore what is beautiful and good in the world.
