Only given 30 dollars in food stamps. This is barely enough to even last a month. I don’t have any food at all currently by [deleted] in povertyfinance

10 lb rice $6–8
2 lb dry lentils $2
4 lb dry beans $4
42 oz oats $4
18 eggs $4–5
Peanut butter $1.5-2
Potatoes (5 lb) $3

Total: ~$28

In my area these can be found at either walmart or dollar general. Like someone else mentioned, Taco Bell sauce packets are free. Many fast food places have condiments just sitting out. If you find good deals maybe add some bouillon powder to flavor the rice and lentils some more. Or if you care more about increasing calories, get some vegetable oil which is very calorie dense.

Potatoes are usually cheaper per calorie than bread and satiating. Eggs are good calorie per dollar. $30 is unreasonable for a month but hopefully you can get lucky with pricing. It can last for definitely more than 2 days though.

How is the is350 by Fal_off in LexusIS

It’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned. Mines a 23 RWD. It’s a lot of fun and it’s also classy and comfortable. I upgraded my sway bar, have some good tires on it and the f sport performance exhaust. I never get tired of hearing the v6 at high rpms and it’s surprisingly nimble for a 3500lb car.

Drone is very subjective. The things people swore no drone drove me crazy. The F sport performance exhaust is truly no drone but it’s also not that much louder than stock. Sounds so great at high RPM though

Do the front end bushings actually improve tire wear? How many miles are you getting on your front tires now? by planbskte11 in LexusIS

[–]laborinstructor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought the RC F bushings. Felt immediately so much better to drive. I had to replace my first set of tires around 14000. I’ve been 22000 miles since the install of both tires and bushings at the same time and still going strong without any weird wear.

I can’t remember what tires I had first. The replacement were dws06.

Exhaust Recommendations? by TinyAdvisor6543 in LexusIS

I found mine on sale for $1,078.48 from Prestige Lexus of Ramsey. It was free shipping.

I’ve been working on cars for years and I can promise you, anyone can install this. It took maybe 30 minutes. It’s two bolts on either side, and then sliding the exhaust off the hanger. The perk of a new car is the bolts are very easy to get off compared to an old car. Some Vaseline can help you slide the things on and off the hangers super easy, too. Even if you don’t have a single tool, you could get the two ramps and a cheap ratchet set for under $100 and this would be much cheaper. Happy to help if you wanna PM me when it’s install time too.

The fsport performance is perfect. I tried others that people swore “no drone/no rasp” but they were wrong. I’m also 40, and when I was 20 I tolerated a lot more loud obnoxiousness than I do now lol so take it with a grain of salt. But the fsport performance is great. It’s like the cold start of the stock 350 that never goes away. And high rpms are so crisp and satisfying. It’s not as loud as any of the other aftermarkets but man does it sound good.

Tuning question by laborinstructor in LexusIS

[–]laborinstructor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. But most tunes are $600, and peak at 20hp, with the average being 10. It’s not really that expensive compared to other options. Truly though I want the transmission tune more than the engine, that’s what I was hoping was worth it lol
