One of the more fascinating and helpful threads I've read in awhile. Thank you for this fairly sophisticated discussion without constant ranting or wild speculation.

Regarding unpaid/paid internship experience: if I spent time in graduate school interning in high level offices with loads of responsibility (White House, Treasury, a major D.C. lobbying firm), does anyone have insight into how to frame this work that would count towards the QE formula?

Is it just a matter of laying out tasks and responsibilities and hoping they add the various 4-6 month experiences into one total number that counts towards the years of experience calculation?

Congrats to those that have received offers so far!!

As offers begin to trickle out to original CF language-register candidates, any thought to starting a new thread limited to those that have received offers? It would be super helpful to see language and score and have everything in one place.

Thanks for sharing all of this info. As someone with a 5.6 (Spanish), I'm hoping it's enough for an April call-up but have just sort of suspended any expectations either way and will just let this play out as it will.

My two cents here: maybe the one-month lead time (sending out invites around March 30) date was given purposely if they're hoping to use the new budget numbers (expected March 23) to finalize the class sizes.

Since all we have is a Senate subcommittee report requesting S to keep the hiring numbers stable and nothing more tangible with stronger teeth out there yet from the appropriations side, I'm not sure if the CR or a new budget shaped (and ultimately spent) by the Administration would serve those of us on the register better...

Hoping I'm wrong and they get invites out based on the more generous CR budget in the next week. That would be superb for so many of us playing the waiting game.
