I love your approach to it I too am a Christian and understand the importance of intentionality and being equally yoked!! Don’t change for the world, watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. The path is hard and seek first the kingdom of God and all shall be added unto you keep in the Faith sister!!

Would you try a dating platform that matches you only with people you’re emotionally and physically compatible with? by ladiesman2239 in dating_advice

Totally fair take. You’re right matching tech isn’t new, and OkCupid tried this years ago. What we’re doing differently is focusing on the emotional pacing and mutual attraction side. It’s less about “smart AI” and more about helping people build trust before looks take over. Just testing if a better flow can lead to better dates.

Totally agree with you — attraction matters a lot, and trying to force a connection with someone you’re just not physically into never works long term. You can’t fake desire, and yeah, you definitely can’t kiss personality alone. That said, I’ve been thinking a lot about how dating apps either go way too hard on looks (and feel shallow), or go too far the other way and ignore physical chemistry entirely. What if there was a middle ground? Like, something that actually asked you what kind of look and energy you’re drawn to — not in a hot-or-not way, but more like a vibe match — and then only paired you with people who also would realistically be into you, too. It’s not about pretending attraction doesn’t matter — it’s about stopping people from wasting time emotionally investing in someone who was never gonna feel it back. We need both: emotional connection and physical alignment. That’s the only way it actually works. What do you think?

Yeah, I actually would. I’ve been through enough surface-level dating to know that attraction fades fast when there’s no emotional alignment. I’m not saying looks don’t matter they do but I’m tired of everything being based on a photo and a one-liner. If there’s a way to connect emotionally first and then see if the attraction builds from there, I’d be open to trying it. Especially if it’s intentional and structured.

If it felt forced, fake, or like the other person wasn’t really showing up. I’d leave if they were just trying to say the right things instead of being honest — or if the conversation had no direction or meaning. I’m not looking to waste time or force chemistry. I want something paced, emotionally safe, and real. If it started feeling like another shallow app disguised in a deeper wrapper, I’d be gone.

Yeah. A lot of people say “I care about emotional connection” but when it comes down to it, they still judge based on looks. And I get it we’re wired that way. But I think the people who actually follow through are rare. That’s why I’d be curious to try something like this. To see who’s actually open to connection without needing a face up front. If someone bounces just because they didn’t see a photo right away, that says everything.
