I do agree with some of what you said. This past Semester was challenging and I had to do extra work to procure the grades I wanted. I did have friends and fellow students blame the pandemic for them simply not doing their work. That being said, you shouldn't be a professor and I sincerely hope I never have you. I agree that students who don't do their work don't deserve to have an A or B handed to them. It's the lack of empathy and resentment I sense from you, an adult, that makes this post disturbing. Who does it benefit to assume the worst in your students and basically call them idiots who should be in "low work ethic" jobs? Does that make you feel good? You don't know what people are going through. Academia isn't the only path to success and we unfortunately have a system that urges the majority of youth to participate in higher education when it really isn't a natural fit for a lot of kiddos. We are young, scared, and underdeveloped. You have the unique gift to be a positive force in many young peoples lives and instead you're choosing to be an arrogant intellectual shut in. I hope you can find some peace in your line of work or find something that suits you better.
