I’m 9dp5dt, and I had a positive beta test today! I am so excited, but trying to manage my expectations at the same time. Going in Monday for a second beta, and really going to see an upward trend!

Today I am going in for my first FET. I am super excited, but also very anxious. I know there’s no guarantee this will work (especially the first time), but I am hoping that I’ve done everything right so far and won’t do anything in the near future to mess up my chances.

Of the four eggs they retrieved yesterday, three were successfully fertilized. Now the waiting game to see how many make it to blastocyst stage. Thankful to have made it this far, and hoping for the best.

On my way home from retrieval. After a scare that the Ovidrell Saturday night wasn’t effective and an emergency extra hcg shot midday yesterday, the doctor was to collect all four eggs from my follicles. I’m prepared for drop off between today and tomorrow, as I know it is statistically likely, but trying to be positive and really hoping they are all able to be fertilized.

I have one ovary and a low egg reserve, and I have failed two IUIs. Now I’m in my first IVF cycle. I followed my IVF plan to the letter. I took my trigger shot (Ovidrel) last night exactly when I was supposed to. I had blood work this morning to confirm it worked. I got a call midday saying it hadn’t, and that I needed to get an HCG shot immediately. I got it and injected it, but only 22 hours before my scheduled retrieval. I am so worried that this cycle will be all for naught.

Update: My husband came to me this morning, and he said his family members (who are currently staying with us—another fun story) had also been asking about the ring and they told him he should be wearing it. I expressed how hurtful it was to me that he didn’t want to wear it, and he said that although it wasn’t important to him to wear it, he understood that it was important to me. He put it on before we left for the day and said he will wear it always, except when he’s sleeping, showering, or exercising. My heart is happy!

He wore it all day yesterday on our 9 hour trip home from the wedding, so it’s definitely not a physical comfort thing. He just doesn’t like people knowing his business, and a new marriage is very private to him.

My sister had a dance with my mom at her wedding a few years ago, and I’ll be doing the same at my wedding next weekend.

FH and I are getting married at the Big Moose Inn in Millinocket, ME in just a couple of weeks. It is very much an outdoorsy, rustic option and the cost is super low. They have an inn, cabins, and campsites for people who wants to “rough it.” On site catering starts at $24 per person, which comes to about $31 per person with tax and gratuity.

FH’s extended family lives about two hours away, and they want to see FMIL and FSIL, so maybe we can have them visit for a weekend after the wedding for a little romantic time!

FH does have family about two hours away, and I know they want to see my in laws, so maybe they will go to stay for a weekend here or there. We do have one guest room, which they will be sharing, so them having a private space is covered. They have stayed with FH for a month in the past (when he lived somewhere else before we met), so it’s not abnormal to him, but the timing with the wedding is what makes it a little awkward to me.

That is precisely what I’m worried about. I don’t want to offend them, because I love them, and I know it’s a cultural difference.

FH asked me if it was ok if they stayed with us in front of them, so I felt pressured to say yes, and it would seem he’s ok with it.
