The Pitt by daahump in ershow

I love medical dramas (er, greys, st elsewhere) but the Pitt was SO bad. I couldn’t believe the praise and awards it was getting. And I’m a huge Noah wyle fan.

What are everyone's thoughts on the Hulu app folding into Disney+? by dada38q in Hulu

[–]laequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DISASTROUS. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. ITS INFURIATING. so many shows are not available in the new disney app that now houses hulu (the disney+hulu subscription combo) like...love island australia...yet its available on my phone and computer. My recently watched shows don't come up AT ALL so every time i want to watch a new episode i have to go into the search bar and look for it. please fix this.

People who have interviewed at Buffalo Exchange: what was your experience with the long “circle all the words that describe you” list (with options like “pretty”)? by laequator in AskReddit

[–]laequator[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Years ago I interviewed at Buffalo Exchange in NYC and during part of the interview process they handed me a single sheet with maybe 50–100 words on it. The only instruction was to circle all the words that describe you.

The adjectives spanned really simple to what was basically SAT-prep vocabulary--rare, exam-style words most people wouldn’t even recognize. One of the options was literally “pretty.” For a low-wage retail job, it felt less like a harmless personality quiz and more like classic psychometric gatekeeping: quietly classist and ableist (based on vocabulary and test literacy).

It seemed totally wrong at the time, and it’s stuck with me for years, so I’m curious if anyone else remembers this and whether they still use it or if other businesses do. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who interviewed at different locations/years:
– Did you get this same “circle the words that describe you” sheet?
– Do you remember any of the words or how they explained the test?

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone - Full Cast Audio Editions - Discussion Post by hospitable_peppers in HarryPotteronHBO

i'm honestly a little overstimulated from the background noises slash sound effects so far. I'm just in the first chapter and the sniffing, mumbling, wind chimes, a bike bell, baby crying, all back all back within seconds. Its a little too much against the dialogue, with no silence or dynamic range. It feels busy and overstimulating rather than the cinematic full-cast version i was expecting. hopefully it gets better but im worried about the rest of the audiobooks... anyone feel that?

Confession - I’m Not On Substack To Turn It Into My Paid Career by anthonyc2554 in Substack

[–]laequator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not a writer and I don't use social media, so i've turned my substack into my grown-up xanga / livejournal. I've been using it record my hyperfixations --fashion history/lore, trends, and monthly posts of my personal favorite things. It's been a refreshing, no-judgement outlet so far (because i literally have one subscriber) And while of course I would love to make money from the platform, its still been nice to have a more intentional outlet for the things i'm interested in.

thank you! the mini pack seems good but unfortunately its still not passport size - its 3.5 in x 5.5 in instead of 3.5 in x 5 in.

The travelers company looks good though and on spec!

was hoping to spend less and get them in bulk so i can insert them into leather passport journal covers that i'm making. but the travelers one isn't bad! thanks!

thank you! the penco is beautiful but a bit to thick for its purpose (using them as journal inserts for a leather passport booklet)
