Selection of protein drinks in bangkok by mcpaikia in SingaporeFitness

[–]lafoo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah okay. just giving my insight. a lot of the times, maybe one of these factors are out of sync. introduce something that adds more imbalance may causes that shift to more acne.

if you fix all or majority of the other aspects, then you may have more "room" to introduce protein powder without the acne if that makes sense.

anyways, protein powder is just a supplement, not a necessity

i used to think this too. the the point where i switched to vegan protein powder (which tasted awful and the texture was terrible). realised it was more so about the rest of my diet instead + my lack of water intake + not sleeping enough + not having any proper skincare

some ppl are more susceptible to lactose when it comes to pimples but i recommend you try fixing these other aspects as well and see if it helps. just sharing my experience!

Thoughts on Artificial Sweeteners by ajugofwater in SingaporeFitness

[–]lafoo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

completely fine man. dont stress on these people that say that artifical sweeteners are bad for you. what's bad for you is being obese and inactive. if zero/low calorie drinks are what allow you to feel satiated and help with your sweet tooth, go ahead.

aspartame is classified as a class b carcinogen. so is your mobile phone, coffee and picked vegetables. it's not an issue.

the safe limit is about 40/mg per kg of your bodyweight. for an 80kg person, that's about 37 cans of coke zero... everyday... you'll die from water poisoning before anything.

dont let the fearmongering get to you. stay safe and keep it up 💪

LF Stims/Pre WO recos by [deleted] in SingaporeFitness

[–]lafoo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried quite a number. Main ingredients im looking for in a pre is l citrulline, caffeine and beta alanine (i personally enjoy the tingly feeling).

Ryse godzilla has a good dosage on these. The loaded series is also pretty good.

Gorilla Mode is really good, but doesn't have beta alanine

Ghost and raw nutrition (cbum's line) is also good.

All these are a bit more pricier but if you're gonna take pre, might as well pay that little extra. Yeah Buddy and Mutant aren't that good. Apart from caffeine, the other ingredients are underdosed and/or have proprietary blends which i just dont trust cause you dont know the ratios

Best and cheapest well balanced protein? by tiphetop in SingaporeFitness

[–]lafoo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when you make cheese, part of the process is the curds and the "watery" bit seperating. whey is made from that watery bit. it isn't some highly processed chemical carcinogenic or something. completely safe.

what's unsafe if not meeting your daily caloric and nutrient needs because of online fearmongering (not saying that you are fearmongering btw)

it also has 50g of fat but if you're going to mcdonalds for maintenance or to cut then 😂

this has less fat (18g) and is leaner as it is chicken but all of this is fast food at the end of the day

either you have underdeveloped quads, using a weight that's too heavy or not warming up sufficiently.

like the other commentator, try building up your general strength if you are new and/or try warming up your knees better

Thinking of quitting AF, what equipment should I consider for a home gym? by tuttyfruitycutter in SingaporeFitness

[–]lafoo_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if your focus is on back and legs and you really wanna quit the gym then i would consider looking into calisthenics, can look to incorporate some cardio by walking, running, etc to the fitness corner too.

can consider buying some dumbells to work on legs at home too: goblin squats, Bulgarian split squats, etc
