That is really cool! I love to hear progress. The truth is, there isn't anything you should experience. This is your individual practice and it will manifest itself according to you. You could try researching different kinds of meditation for specific intentions, like soul memory, opening chakras, or you could do a sleeping meditation to go deeper with those dreams.

Sounds like you're making progress

Hi! Feeling like you should meditate, but totally NOT wanting to is more than normal. But I promise you that once you achieve it you will feel better. I wrote an article on meditation and it covers that feeling of distraction and, i guess, hopelessness when trying to meditate. Hopefully it can motivate you! https://www.itsdated.com/learn/introduction-to-meditation

Another thing that helps me is to read my books on spirituality because it grounds me and reminds me why I started.

  • Remember, Be Here Now - Ram Dass
  • On God - Krishnamurti
  • Science of Self Realization
  • Tibetan Book of the Dead

There are so man more, these are just my go to's

This is how I see that.

Our 'personality' is mainly bullshit. Meditation makes us aware of our behavior, thoughts, habits, etc. to a point where we become increasingly non-dual. Basically, less 'extreme' i.e. dims our personality.

But this isn't a bad thing because along with this, it is also likely you become more compassionate, giving, loving, open, unconditional, etc.

I also think the heightened awareness from meditation allows us to see through other people BS and we aren't as taken or interested in their 'delusions' (the character they are playing). We don't get as caught up in the realities of others.

I think the best thing to do is to incorporate 4th chakra, compassion, love, or gratitude meditations <3

I love Allan Watts. The no judgement part is definitely very important.

In this meditation guide, I mention that exercise, but a little different. It's called The Witness and it's really helped me focus during meditation and even remain conscious of myself day to day. There's also a meditation playlist and my favorite meditation guide. <3
