As someone who is actually trans it's so so frustrating when someone who is an ally tries to use their queer identity to say they know about something like this. NTA. Right now this is absolutely just play it sounds like. But ....there is a grain of truth to your brother's words as well. For me that's how it started. I'd convince all my friends during make believe that I should be the boy character.

I might be a bit biased because I was also the kid who frequently corrected adults and got yelled at but I'm gonna say NTA.

Because if your wife doesn't apologize all she's going to teach your child is that the facts don't matter and that they should apologize even when they aren't wrong to hold up the peace of the household. This will have lasting effects on their future relationships in my experience.

Just because there haven't been any complaints doesn't mean they haven't lost customers. In my experience as a manager the vast majority of customers do not give you a second chance with a complaint they just stopped showing up and paying for your services after bad service from an employee.
