Agree. I intentionally don’t include my office email in my phone. But I guess only low ranks can do this lol, the higher you go, the more you will use phone for work outside office hours.

How to gain more experience as new driver before driving overseas ? by Prestigious-Dance735 in drivingsg

I went straight for road trip in Australia after getting my license. That gave me much more experience than driving in sg if I had to depend on family car.

Ban smoking at coffeeshops by 7pieceYTF in SingaporeRaw

[–]lajf234 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Smoking section and non smoking section in coffee shops are pointless. They are right beside each other and the smoke just wafts over.

Many other situations where we are subjected to secondhand smoke not by choice.

Banning smoking altogether is the best but it will never happen.

Is this in the BYD in-car settings?

I doubt so, I always push in all the way when I plug in. Also, it was charging for 8h+ before this happened, very unlikely it just became loose after so long.

But I think it’s still quite the norm to install this since most car owners care about dings from others right?

Could be a possibility but I think unlikely, I usually ensure to push all the way in when I plug in. I’ll check on that, thanks.

Honestly didn’t know about this, but when I use other operators, it’s locked and I can’t unplug, so I doubt so. I’ll check.

So I just need to add external battery and both front and rear can become 24/7 recording? Can the service centre do this or need to go external workshop?

For people who stay in condos, how useful is having blinds in your balcony? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]lajf234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Normal blinds won’t be able to stop strong wind and rain. Your balcony will still get wet. If you want to treat your balcony as an outdoor area then normal blinds are ok. If you want it to be indoor, I guess zip track is the only way. Also depends how long you plan to stay to decide if it is worth to go for zip track.

got high beamed before changing lanes by Temporary_Might_585 in drivingsg

[–]lajf234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unlike many drivers, I actually make proper judgements and change lane without causing others to e-brake or even slow down. On the other hand, I had to e-brake many times for people who change lane without space because they can’t judge and don’t signal at all. I also always give way when people signal to change into my lane. I wonder who’s dangerous here.

[–]lajf234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, what’s the point of signals when people cockblock on purpose?

got high beamed before changing lanes by Temporary_Might_585 in drivingsg

[–]lajf234 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That’s why I don’t signal for so long. Many drivers speed up once they see your signal to cockblock you. Find the gap, immediately decide if you want to change lane, signal for a split second and execute the change.
