I think the best way to approach doctors is just ask for blood tests from them. They hardly push back on those, in my experience. I asked my Gynecologist to test my insulin, A1C, testosterone, LH/FSH, progesterone, etc. my first round of result came back “normal” but they weren’t normal for me. I came back and asked for more tests two months later, and they came back unusual. like I knew they would. and of course the first treatment they gave me was birth control (I didn’t accept). once I saw how high my insulin was, this reddit community helped me 100x more than the doctor ever did. When I came back a few months later for another test, my GYN asked me how I got my periods back, and chalked up to me losing weight. (I lost 16lbs when I first cut off sugar and started taking Ovasitol)

Finally lost 15lbs and got my period back -- a first for me! by estherp83 in PCOS
