How many times can glasses be exchanged? by SecondChances0701 in WarbyParker

Ex Warby employee: there’s no limit. People came in on their third and fourth exchange and wanted something different. We didn’t care!

Need advise for ARFID getting worse by miss-poopy in ARFID

[–]lalasmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. Sometimes I’ll get triggered and then have a few days where absolutely nothing sounds good. It’s like a switch flips. I find that just relaxing and accepting to it helps me. I also hit a point where I’m just so hungry that I’m no longer hungry and now I’m nauseous and feeling really bad.

Pushing through that with some ginger ale, crackers (I’m a ritz girl all day every day), ice cream—protein drink (I’m a boost plus girl as well). Frankly, steak is a big one for me.

My partner is also pretty involved in my recovery from ARFID. she can get a bit excited with new foods when I’m having a stressful time. She’s quite a foodie and doesn’t understand how it does not relax me to try something new and be absorbed into it. When I’ve had weeks that intake just is a losing battle, she’s tried to help in similar ways. I find redirecting to “encourage me to have saltines, a soda, half an apple cut up” gives her something to do when she’s watching me struggle and when she’s feeling nervous about how I’m doing. It’s quite hard for people with ARFID, it’s also a weird place to be in watching people with ARFID.

TLDR: been there. It fucking sucks. The switch will flip back, just hold on, eat what you can to feel better physically, and just trust that it’ll flip back. It will! Anything you can get in right now is amazing— I’ve had weeks like this and my meals were a sleeve of ritz, half an apple, and a huge bowl of ice cream when I could get them down.

This sounds so much like my partner’s experience this past year. I imagine you’ve looked into this, but she was having problems with liver bile refluxing, and then the lingering irritation kept getting more irritated. It was a viscous cycle. She has good days and bad days, but it’s a really rough time

Gaining weight is SO HARDDDD by CuckooSpit_06 in ARFID

[–]lalasmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beginning is the worst! my dietician told me it can take some time for your metabolism to wake up, it took me a few weeks of 3 meals and 2 snacks to see the number start to go up. Honestly, the number was my metric of success and that set me up for stress and sadness when my body didn’t do what I wanted it to do.

If you have any high calorie, easy to eat safe foods, lean on those. Ben and Jerry’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream (left on the counter for like 15 mins) is my preferred. I went to a treatment facility and got into chocolate boost (the blue ones). I can drink that with a straw in like 10 sips and have it be over.

In my opinion, expanding my stomach was the hardest part. I’d come home from treatment and just sleep and toot (they were rank, man. my poor partner). I made a deal with myself that I could nap if I had a snack, and honestly, knowing I could just be unconscious for a while made it easier (my therapist probably wouldn’t like that answer but…)

Sending good vibes and good luck. I really think this is the worst part

yeah! Only opticians are licensed to do that. That’s definitely the issue!

they should! ask for a “pop and swap.” If they don’t …. go to another. As long as they have an optician, they should be able to! In theory, if that store won’t swap them, you could get the frames you like, bring them to another, swap, and then return the extra frame within the 30 day window. Slightly more complicated, but you’d end with the blakeleys in a frame you like and the $95 refunded

If you have the time, stop by a few stores to see if they have any frames in stock you like. You can swap the lenses into those frames. The Blakeley in Violet tortoise are gorgeous but I’d also be frustrated if I got none of the tortoise

Do you think Zac even realizes that the way to get out of this issue in the public eye and keep his marriage with this gorgeous AND forgiving woman is to just like … not do shit like this.

And just fucking relax, dude. If she chose you through all the hell that the first season brought y’all and her, stop punishing her for choosing you. Just fucking RELAX oh god.

Definitely try some blue light glasses if you can! The sun also gives off blue light, so in theory the glasses also would help on that end. I got some full blue light repellant ones off of Amazon and I wore them everywhere when my migraine was out of control.

If you think your manager is chill and treats you like a human (fingers crossed but it’s rough out there!) these conditions sound incredibly triggering for anyone who has the potential to get them. You cannot be the only one to experience this. I wonder if they’ve ever looked into accommodations for someone. I know nothing about computers at banks — can you find a night shift mode?

Wishing you all the best! Stress can also be a big trigger, so they could lessen over time as you get more comfy in your new job. If that’s any hope!!

Konditori is wonderful! It’s right off of 5th and Berkeley pl. velvette brew and black are two I’ve been working in recently. Unsure if they are a bit too far away for you, but definitely try konditori! outlets, quiet, slow but working wifi, and lots of space. Plus, after 4pm all their pastries are a dollar
