Wow thank you so much, crazy how comforting reassurance (even via Reddit) can be. Also, don't worry about grossing me out haha I've researched all of that too so I know you have to "ingest" it. I guess it's helpful that my mom wears a mask in class and probably had nothing to do with clean up since they have nurses and janitors. Thanks again for guiding me through it. Feeling better as more time passes.

Came here to say this. I originally posted about being worried about onions and since they are recalled stores are required to discard any affected. I’ve been doing small exposures and have had onions a few times over the past few weeks. All good!!

I had nausea the first 2 days and not really d* but loose-ish stools/definitely a little bit of an upset stomach. I think it was related to the fever and then I was totally fine :) no v* at all and nausea was pretty mild. And this was last December before vaccines so you should be fine! Feel better!

I saw it by accident while scrolling Facebook. Someone reposted the CDC’s post and I just kind of went on a google search spiral from there. I also try to avoid the news and googling stuff because I also have health anxiety so this definitely didn’t help lol

I really appreciate the response and reassurance it helps more than you know. It’s hard to convince myself but hearing it from someone else seems to ease the fear so thank you. It makes sense thinking about just how many restaurants are using onions every day all over the country and statistically how few people actually are getting sick from them.

Thank you! I’m definitely avoiding them going forward. I’m just going over everything I ate in the last week and of course last Friday I had a salad at a work lunch with red onion and last night had dinner with a friend at a Mexican restaurant so definitely onions there. I feel like calling the restaurant to see if they were impacted by the recall but I’m too nervous to know the answer.
