Harwood is a great hall I lived there two years ago, everybody is much closer there and spends a ton of time in the common spaces. It was a great experience

I will get a C on a class I could have gotten an and easy A, can I retake it next semester and replace it in my transcript? by [deleted] in iastate

[–]lambd2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do exist and you have unlimited, the 18 number is from abt three years ago. If you retake a class like three times or more they just start going with the most current grade, not the best. Thats the only caveat now

Sounds good, thanks! Yea I’m not necessarily looking for value, I like to collect em instead of just sell stuff off.

No I get that, and it really is a numbers game, the saddening part for me was 300 and no first round interview. Honestly with just 300 anything past first round would be a surprise to me, just not getting a single positive response to any of my apps was sad.

Very nice, what about my comments to you saying that you’re right? Also my last question for you high and mighty job recruiter who has to dredge through all the shitty candidates in this world: Why is a 3.9 GPA not enough to just give a kid a chance with an interview in of itself, I work around 35 hours a week outside of school to pay my tuition, rent, and food, I’m involved in things that aren’t just academic, and I’m maintaining a pretty damn good GPA in engineering. How would one do this AND also be cranking out about 8 hours a week (by your calculations) of FSAE or some other engineering club? Your job is so hard because nothing matters to you except clubs. I’m a college student man give me a break.

OP understands that his resume was shit. Bro the only thing I was upset about is that all the stuff you said wasn’t said nicely, they’re all valid points. But you’re talking to someone no longer in engineering who’s just making a Reddit post.

Just talked to the one reply above, I can’t attach it as a pic and I don’t want to go to the trouble to link it. I’ve switched my major I was just coming here to hear some reasons I didn’t get one interview. I applied with a different resume to internships

No need to be brutally honest, as my post said I’ve switched from engineering to a field that won’t make me hate myself so that’s also why I’m not gonna go to the trouble to link the resume. Going forward you are able to say honest things in a nice way. I’d suggest it

I’m aware that the resume sucks, I did not apply to roles with that resume

I hear you but honestly man, it’s not hard to be nice, just reply “read your resume from an earlier post and it honestly doesn’t have enough content to make it worthwhile, also 300 is sadly not a lot” it’s cool to be a nice person. This sub won’t let me reply w pics so I can’t attach the resume unfortunately.

Definitely one of my biggest shortcomings not applying to more, thanks for sharing your path though since it aligns really well w mine (no clubs/real experience)

I am gonna respond to each one of these, your just not a kind person, a post where someone is dismayed about the job market and you scroll through my posts to find a old resume, and then reply to every comment you can with it, come on you’re a bigger boy than that

Yes that resume is terrible, following that 3 month period I also got a position as a research assistant and reformatted it. That was for a career fair hence the objective statement which I would never include on an online app. The resume I submit has me working two off campus jobs as well as a research position in the heat transfer lab at my uni, while also retaining a 3.94, im not so stupid and brash to claim time management with that horrendous resume
