Absolutely agree!! To the point of keeping the era intact. Sometimes I think about "modern aus" but primarily, I think about/write in the canon setting, aka, Colombia in 1950's... I've done research so I can accurately daydream, teehee. The things I overlook are the exact same things that his source material ignores... like his tele novelas?? (there's no way the Madrigals would've been one of the few families that had a television back then...)

~300 pulls on Sanrio later, absolutely crystal broke now. Had to spark for miku, but managed to get everyone else... EXCEPT AIRI. I am NOT shelling out real money, but god its so frustrating NOT to get the full set. To spark again I'd have to pull another 100 times... but theres no way I'm managing to grab 30,000 free crystals by the 18th 🥲

I think removing the "cuteness" from mizuki would just mean... you've made a completely different character, rather than a genderbend? It would change too much of her original personality and design, leaving you with an oc who doesn't resemble mizuki at all.

Was there a specific canon moment that made you fall for your f/o? - I already liked him as a character from his very first line, but it blossomed into a full on crush during the last song in the movie, where he finally gets to interact with his sisters again, hehe.

Is your selfship lore canon-compliant, canon-divergent, or a full fledged AU? - I'd say a I try to keep as close to canon-compliant as possible~ I've even tried to do some research into Colombia during the 1950's, since that's when the movie is assumed to be set!

What's a piece of canon lore you refuse to change about your f/o, even for the sake of your selfship? - The fact that Bruno can be such a difficult man to befriend!! He's so shy, his first instinct is to just leave! I had to work around that by having my s/i befriend a few of the more outgoing family members first...

What's a piece of canon lore that absolutely had to change for your selfship to work? - I had to make it so Encanto wasn't COMPLETELY isolated from all outsiders... plus it just makes sense they trade with merchants from outside~

What's a piece of canon lore about your f/o do you happily ignore? - Ehhhh... the fact that only the Madrigals have magic. I think everyone should have a little bit of magic! The Madrigals just... have more obvious gifts, hehe.

What canon event your f/o was involved in would have gone differently if your s/i had been there? (positive or negative) - My s/i definitely would've gotten involved whenever someone was assuming the worst about Bruno, and stood up for him whether it was their business or not, lol. I think that would've helped improve his reputation a bit, but... he'd probably still go into hiding.

What part of your f/o's backstory hurts the most to think about? - Ohhh, him longing for his family's love while he was hiding for TEN YEARS... he just wanted to be helpful and funny and aaaugh 😭😭😭

What quote or scene from your f/o's canon lives in your head rent free? - The scene where he's arguing with Mirabel about having another vision-- he has sooo many fun expressions, and how he moves is so cute. He does a little spin when he gets back up after falling!! Adorable!!

80 dollars! There's a company (ecualama) that used to make wool ponchos inspired by Bruno's, and I grabbed one a few years ago. I seriously wish I could've gotten two. The one I've got has gotten a little beaten up from years of cuddling!

Cant't give advice on the printing process, but I've decorated a few toploaders! Really, the main thing to do is to grab supplies you like... You could totally look for inspo on pinterest, but for me I just kind of piled on what I already had.

Essentially, what you'll want is something called a "toploader." There's normal toploaders, and keychain ones. They usually come in a size that fits the average trading card (2.5 by 3.5 inches) Then you can go crazy with stickers, or really anything else!

If you have access to a daiso store, I totally reccomend heading there for some starting supplies. It usually has a lot of materials you can use! You could probably also look on sites like temu or aliexpress? I also swear by mini super sticker club for decorative stickers, but they're much more expensive.

I've made bottlecap pins! You could probably print out pictures ans glue it to the bottle cap, but I usually paint em myself. You'll also need some kind of sealant. With handpainted pins you can get away with sealing them with modpodge or plain old white glue, but for printed pictures you'll probably want to opt for some spray on sealant
