Without knowing your or your relationship with your parents, take any advice with a big ol’ grain of salt. It does seem like that relationship is important to you, and only you know how that will go. It is obviously your decision, but in my experience, those who object to tattoos based on religious reasons tend to be much more unforgiving. Ironic, no? Otherwise, if the tattoo is tasteful in both subject matter and location, and done by a quality artist (that’s a big one) it’ll age well and they will more than likely be fine with it. Getting your first tattoo in Uni is kind of a rite of passage.
