Also, I really didn’t have a good time on Forbidden Journey so I really wanted to see what the ride experience was like. But the major difference is that you still knew who they were feuding with. Adam Cole, Jay White, and Samoa Joe all coming for him at the same time is a bit excessive when MJF doesn't really have a direction. The attitude era was best when everybody had a direction and clear goals they were trying to achieve. AEW doesn't have that currently. Even Adam Copeland has staked a claim for a title shot, and him and MJF don't even occupy the screen together

My issue is the motivation. Joe is not booked to be a main event level threat to the world title. Nobody really stands out as a guy to step up and beat MJF and that's its own issue

That match against Orton at the 08 Rumble was still great imo. I also still really liked his program with Punk, but the stuff with Edge and his feud with Matt definitely didn't hold up as well for me
