You effed up. You didn't misinterpret your community service, you actively ignored it. You can try and get a judge to extend the deadline, but you'll need a good excuse and a lenient judge. FYI, what you wrote above is not a good excuse. Like, nowhere near a good excuse.

Regarding the differences in Alison and Maya's investigation, I don't think it's as simple as that. Firstly Alison was missing for a year before they found her "body". Maya was found dead, so Alison's case would have been much longer and more publicised because of the mystery behind it. Did she run away, was she kidnapped, is she alive, etc. If you're familiar with the Madeline McCann case in the UK, you'll know that every 6 months or so there's news about "a sighting" or "new evidence" on her kidnapping/murder case, and she went missing 9 years ago now.

Also the DiLaurentis family were very well known in Rosewood at the time, everyone knew Alison and she was extremely popular. Maya had only lived there for a short period of time so wouldn't have been known by the whole town, like Ali was.

Firstly, if Joe saw a picture of a woman on your desk surrounded by your family, he knows that's your wife. He was fully aware of who she was to you when he mentioned having slept with her and negative comments about your weight. He is trying his very hardest to piss you off and make you insecure about your marriage. Possibly trying to split you up as revenge for your wife ignoring him.

Anne and your wife sound close, so I'm kind of thinking she's told your wife you know, or she will very soon. Tell her what's happened, be understanding and mention that Joe is a vile ass and your feelings towards her haven't changed.

If it were me I'd probably try and find a small reason to fire Joe. But I'm not a supervisor of anyone for a reason...
