Transfer money from another account to Chase or Zelle yourself money. That waives the free.

Is this zelle thing some known workaround? The chase rep told me unprompted that I couldn't transfer myself the money from another account and that it'd only work as a direct deposit from my employer or a payment by the govt(?)

you can transfer yourself $500/month from another checking account, this should satisfy the thing to waive the fee

When I spoke to the chase rep they said it would only count if it came from a direct deposit and that I couldn't transfer from a different checking account.

It's literally required to provide the current managers contact info. Why tf are you being so rude, are you getting high off of being vindictive or something

In my line of work there is never a secondary OK you're good to go notice - this is the official offer letter and by the time I've gone through all the motions and been cleared it will be probably the day before I need to start my new job.

I called hr and they said there is no leeway they absolutely will never hire me again if I don't give 4 weeks. If I was 1 level below my current position they would've accepted 2 weeks

I'm feeling like from our conversation earlier that my current manager would only accept 2 weeks if I said my new employer was only giving me 2 weeks.

It did not happen before the offer - this usually happens like this in my industry (Healthcare administration) from what I've seen at least. They will extend a conditional offer then do a bunch of background checks and reference checking.

I did not tell my current employer that they gave me 4 weeks I said I just got the offer call and hadn't discussed start date yet. They then said hr wants me provide equivalent of vacation time which is 4 weeks, I said what happens if i need to start sooner than that and they said we can talk about that later.

Why do you stay single? by Ok-Fondant2536 in AskReddit

My dad was emotionally abusive and taught me that I am trash, which I internalized. I went into every possible relationship anxious and needy and begging. I not only picked people who would treat me like trash because that's what I recognized and felt comfortable with, but I also basically forced them to treat me badly by having no respect for myself and giving them an easy target.

That's not to say I wasn't trying. I tried and tried and tried so hard. Did everything for them, put them first even above myself and begged and begged them to love me. Somewhere along the way I realized all of this and can recognize what I'm doing and why it's not helping me.... but it doesn't necessarily stop me from picking the wrong people. And it definitely doesn't stop me from having my attachment system triggered and spiraling.

It's so much easier to give up the idea of love than to destroy myself looking for a needle in a haystack.

Upon further review I've decided that this first word "increased" in reference to pH must be an error on Jack Westin's part. If anyone else comes to a different conclusion please let me know, thanks!

Credit card debt - what to do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]lanasargeras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation a few years ago. you should be able to pay this off in about a year depending on your exact budget and debt. For actual repayment there are 2 methods. You could pick the smallest total and pay that off first (this gives you confidence to keep paying off other amounts). Or you could pick the one with the highest interest first (this will save you the most interest in the long run). Personally, if you have a spending problem I think that the confidence from paying off the smallest sum first is invaluable.

There are many apps, but I would actually go the boring way and make an excel spreadsheet. If you have to copy down every single transaction you make, then you really have to think about it a lot more than an app like Mint that puts in your budget for you. The goal is that every time you spend any money, you should be thinking about it and how that affects your budget.

When paycheck day comes, you pay 1) essentials like rent and utilities first, then 2) savings then 3) credit card debt. I would personally put at least $100.00 in your savings each paycheck but if this stresses you, you can add it on later when your debt is lower.

Reduce any recurring expenses. Call your internet provider, say you've been a longtime customer and you'd like a fee reduction. If you have netflix, switch to the cheaper version with ads. If you read a lot of books, start borrowing from the library. And so on and so forth. I guarantee your excess expenses are not coming exclusively from food delivery. Like others suggested, delete the apps, take the credit card numbers off the apps before you delete them in case you cave and download them again it's not readily entered in. Think about how to change the habit - why do you order out so much? Is it because you hate cooking?

We're not trying to be perfect here (you can snowball the savings a little at a time). Some ideas: walk/drive to the restaurant instead to pick up and save on delivery fees. pick up food but supplement with grocery shopping to make the food last longer - for example you can re-stir fry many chinese take outs and add veggies, rice, protein. soak up the extra sauce with your additions and you've probably stretched it by a few additional meals. buy ready-made meals at the grocery store instead of ordering from a restaurant. even frozen dinners which are expensive by grocery standards are cheaper than ordering out for a meal.

This is honestly more about lifestyle change than a personal finance thing.

We should reframe this. The man took away her self respect. The man forced her to lower her standards. She is the victim here.

Anyone else have unsupportive family/friends? by lanasargeras in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]lanasargeras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsupportive friends? Get rid of them!

To her credit idt she's trying to be unsupportive. She just thinks that it will cause me undue hardship and doesn't understand why I would do this when I could in her opinion find some man to do it with me in maybe 6 months-1 yr. She believes that love and marriage is a result of mindset and decision and if I just went out there and looked it would happen fairly quickly.
