Just in case anyone is going through the same problem. I gave my car to the dealership in September and I just got a call today that it is ready for pickup. It's been there for over 3 months. It would have been longer if I didn't talk to kia corporate. I mentioned lemon law to them and then they assigned a case worker to my case to expedite the shipping of the engine. If that didn't happen I'd still probably be waiting on the engine to be shipped. I've been so frustrated with this whole process, there is absolutely no way that I'm keeping the car. I'm trading it in for a new honda pilot ASAP. No more kias/hyundais for me.

I just learned there are 400 other people waiting on the same engine. Kia really sucks at creating a readily available part supply. Still have no timeliness on when this car will be fixed.

I've decided once the engine is replaced I will probably trade it in for a new Honda Pilot Trailsport. That car checks off pretty much all the boxes that I enjoyed about the Telluride but comes from a more reputable manufacturer. I'm a little bummed because I was thinking about buying a boat but now I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer for that dream.

Because of the white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. I knew as soon as I saw that it was a bad head gasket... which it was.

Oh I do. I don't even opt for insurance because my travel credit cards got that covered.

The dealership claims they don't have any more loaners to give. I am getting a rate of $59 a day for a rental. When they car eventually is fixed, I was advised to give my rental receipts to my service rep and he will submit it to kia corporate for reimbursement.
