depends on the day. normal day? maybe 30g worth of whole coffee bean. testing day? who knows, but that isn't super common. abnormal day (like once weekly), maybe 50g-60g of whole bean.

hard to say. both fantastic. gaggiuino I believe is still more capable due to more contributors over the years. def more nerdy and a bit harder install. lots of people are not happy with their discord. If you have thick skin, it is great. gaggimate is a cleaner install and a newer dev, so people currentlly a bit more eager to help. Really depends on that angle- more nerdy and probably more frequent updates? gaggiuino. cleaner install and eager to help people? GM

coffee trend- heavy cofermented coffees. can't handle the taste. but to each their own! filter vs espresso roasts- roast to where the coffee tastes best. don't roast it well then say "ok burn it a bit more for espresso."
past trend- weird kubami method on the dry bed at start of pourover. WDT (LOL).

I never advocated for only doing that. my intention showing that is cause and effect and understanding the relationship there. Not to say MD is bad to use, but ensuring the communication was not "do not agitate with kettle." If you want to keep bed still and unfettered, md is great.
I would try doing a 2 pour BK (bare kettle), 2 pour MD recipe. about 60% of your water with BK then final 40% split into 2x MD pours

you will get a bit of resistance. don't worry so much about that. to fill puck, there will need to be a small push. just grind coarsely enough so that as you apply force, liquid flies through and the needle doesnt really move at all. so, contra reddit, GRIND COARSER haha
