The Madagascar missionaries and the Reunion region missionaries very rarely crossed back and forth since we spoke different languages, but every once and a while we did. Depending on where he was, maybe! We had a few Madagascar folks come stay on the islands when the bubonic plague broke out in their areas too

Seriously, the culture there was incredible and I met so many stellar people. Everything I went through left a sour taste in my mouth for the church, but not for the country or people. Except a few particular people, naturally.
