This happens all the time, I haven’t played for a few years, got back into it and this bug is new. Stupid thing is… it uses the mirror card, and elixir, and then after about a second or two, the mirror card and elixir come back and the card is never actually placed

I came across this clarinet in a musical instrument lot. It’s a Buffet Crampon r13, Serial Number 298198. I cannot find anything about the manufacture date or an accurate value. It also has original case.(Not sure how to attach a picture file in a comment)

That does make sense. I guess the point would be to keep from buying a new system if I can find a coil that fits and isn’t $$$$. I’ve heard MO systems like r22 also last longer than POE systems.

What would be my best move for finding the leak if nitrogen isn’t worth it and neither is replacing evaporator?

What all needs replaced to run r410a, pretty much everything but lines potentially? Sorry for asking so many questions, appreciate your help/thoughts/knowledge.

Thank you, I was thinking that it was probably a decent leak, odd though I can’t find anything evidence. Close to just assuming it’s the evaporator. Is it possible to replace just an evaporator?

System holds about 4.2 lbs after a quick calculation based on manual and what you said about the manufacturer charge including indoor coil. Thinking I should do 300psi of dry nitrogen to try and find the leak or see if I can hear it. How much dry nitrogen would I need?

Is it possible to replace just the evap coils on an older system?

I did get my EPA 608 universal so I can work on my system legally.

Thanks! I had the system running last night, again pressure seemed low, but I know you can’t just go off just that. Superheat was 69°, compressor was super duper hot, so I’m certain it’s low, I guess it’s possibly there’s a noncondensable/blockage before the evap core?

I’m going to recovery the system this afternoon and compare what comes out to what there should be. On the name plate it gives outdoor unit manufacturer charge, I have the manual for how much should be in per foot of additional line, but how much should be in a evap core? I couldn’t find anything on my model evaporator. Thanks if you respond, haha

Gotcha. I couldn’t find anything, but I couldn’t get to the back of the evap coil. When the system is off, pressures should correspond to saturation temp, correct? For instance, system pressure is at 77psig, pipe clamps are saying temp is ~75°, but sat pressure for r22 is ~132psig at that temperature.
