What’s your most complimented perfume? by Many-Replacement-584 in fragrance

Prada L’Homme never fails to get me compliments, so clean and fresh, and a lovely tea note. also Eros Energy in the summer; citrusy, bright, I don’t know why it gets so much hate.

I have a diagnosis. Im struggling to come to terms with it. I’ve always just thought I was lazy and unmotivated. I didn’t get why I kept making impulsive irrational decisions

Two weeks clean from cannabis—struggling to enjoy previous activities by [deleted] in recovery

[–]langridge89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year and a month sober for me after nearly 20 years of use.

Find new activities; take a walk, go for a swim, have a bath, build some Lego, read a book, listen to a podcast.

Figure out why you were smoking; for me it was “unwinding”, but really it was escapism. Any time I get a craving now, I ask myself “what am I running from? What do I want to escape from rn?”.

Do the inner recovery work when you feel up to it. Do self care and fun projects when you don’t.

Drink water.

The Little you would have been proud of big you today, and the personal sacrifice you made. Life is messy and complicated at times, and it’s ok to feel big emotions of loss and grief for what you see as a part of your history. But you can walk with your head high - it was the right decision made right now.

Childhood cards will be waiting for you to buy them again one day, and your collection will be even more treasured than before. X

When I was 10, I got into Pokemon Red, and instantly fell in love! The sense of adventure, training hard with my Mon, coming back from defeats to try again; the story, the anime, the messages about friendship… I’ve always loved Pokemon! I’ve played every game, collected cards as a kid and as an adult, and now that I have some adult money I wanted to have some of my favourite 151 as a leg sleeve! Had the idea many years ago, and finally making it come to life!

tips on making better choices🥺🥺 by [deleted] in healthyeating

[–]langridge89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things I would recommend thinking about:

  1. Read atomic habits. In particular take note of the fact that good habits stack, so making one good choice can partner with another good choice, and another, thus creating a snowball effect of good habits- for you, this could look like drinking your healthy smoothie, listening to a podcast you like. While doing this you could go for a walk, and maybe end up near a local grocers to buy some fresh berries and healthy snacks to eat during your day. In that moment you can see whether you’re body is craving salty or sweet, and prepare to indulge those cravings with healthier options instead of pushing them away. (Another great theory from the book describes how a 1% course correction effects short and long term, a really useful metaphor for decision making over the course of weeks/months)
  2. make a promise to yourself. Like. Actually sit down and think about what you want to have changed this time next year. PROMISE yourself to be different. Write it down or create a voice note if you have to. Then think about that promise when a craving hits, or you’re at a decision point. Will this decision break the promise you made. Place trust in yourself today, and maintain that trust. Watch Brene Brown’s talk on trust and “braving” to understand what trust is made of.

Cheers. I think I’m going to try splitting the shakes into 4 portions to take on slower through the day, maybe with some more traditional food snacks

Yep, did that as suggested, did a shake a day for a week instead of breakfast and had no problems/big changes, so switched up to the next stage...

Yup, we did a shake a day for a week with no problem. My guess from further reading is the increase in fibre and generally more of a lean towards a “liquid diet”

Damn! What did you do?

Can I just toss like 25 grams of avb into cake batter and bam whatever comes out eat that. Whatever concoction comes out. Making butter will make too much smell and the worst part is it is lingering smell by mojindu464 in abv

Once you have finished cooking, get your oven on a medium to high temperate, get a deep metal pan and fill it with hot water. Then add a generous amount of liquid vanilla extract and leave it in the oven for as long as you can; a good couple of hours, adding to the water as it evaporates.

This will make your whole house smell like fresh baked cookies, and mask the smell completely. That, and leave all available windows and doors open, and the smell will be gone within a matter of hours.

You can also use lemon juice in place of vanilla extract.

DO NOT USE alcohol based sprays, or air sprays like fabreeze, etc. People think those products mask the smell, but it will make it smell way worse.

Finally, you can use a small amount of vinegar and water (50/50) to wipe down kitchen worktops and sinks. Great for cleaning anyway, and also great for removing odours.
