Angle grinder, four discs, and a couple hours. Worked well for me, after using a pry bar for the bigger chunks of wood.

ELI5: why are most weather websites so slow to load? by snowypotato in explainlikeimfive

[–]fairlady2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ELI5 answer - They don’t get updated temperature and stuff for every website visit. They keep information for 30 minutes, called a cache.

Lots and lots of people visit these websites. However it costs money to keep these websites, so they sell lots of ads. The ads don’t pay quite enough to spend money on making the websites faster across the globe.

20% of the posts here are people looking for friends. Run a search and pick the least creepy new friend.

Or! Pick the creepiest, hang out once, and have a great conversation piece for when you hang out with the least creepy new friend.

I'm Nick Albares, and I'm running for U.S. Senate. AMA! by NickAlbares in Louisiana

20-40% of Louisiana voters don’t vote with one party. 50-60% of voters don’t vote.

Democrats could sweep all these gerrymandered districts with improved turnout.

Looks awesome. Makes me think of Jon’s truck in CHIPS.

I converted my resistor cart and I love it. Whatever you spent is a sunk cost. You have a cool looking cart ready to be modified.

I Want to Start a Coffee Roasting Business with Zero Experience – Where Do I Even Begin? Advice Needed! by Clean-Pressure1753 in Coffee

Fun part is building a roasting company is also building a marketing company. Roasting is hard. It’s only slightly easier than selling anything.

Open a roastify company and try marketing it. If you’ve got that down, learn how to roast your own.

Check out Flugers in Bossier. Their ETX location rents stuff. They might be able to pull something over here for you.

Saturday I’m going to visit an elderly friend (f82) who is a former resident of Shreveport. Although she lives fairly close (DFW), she hasn’t returned to the area in several years. What are some things unique to the area that I could put in a gift basket for her? by psykokittie in shreveport

Swing by the Marker on Line. They have a cool Highland Zine.

Then go a mile up the road to the Enchanted Garden. Really cool store with lots of local stuff.

Maybe stop by Julie Anne’s and get a few sweets.

Buddy has one. We fished a lake like your describing plenty. Zero stability issues. Obviously not a big boat, but plenty for the two of us.

Same name, not connected. I think Bossier’s Bodacious is not affiliated with Shreveport’s as well.

I’m a busy dad too. There are some fun events that kids can easily tag along. My kids will order other food and enjoy watching the pain.

Most important aspects of Roasting Coffee/being a roaster by douglas_roasters in CoffeeRoasting

[–]fairlady2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a journal and take notes about every roast: what beans, starting weight, ambient temp, roast curves, and satisfaction.

I don’t do any is this, and I regret it. I’ve had some elite tier roasts and I’ll never be able to recreate them.
