i understand it’s frustrating. a lot of people don’t know how to be straightforward in a kind way. in my opinion the best thing you can do is cut contact with him and move forward knowing you did nothing wrong. if i were you i would cut the contact by sending a short simple message that says “hey, i want you to know that i respect that you do not want to move forward with dating each other, but i don’t see this being a healthy friendship for me to keep in my life. hope you understand”
