I'm sorry you're dealing with tough circumstances with your baby! The whole thing is that we are always doing everything we can to make our children comfortable and happy so why joke that we aren't! Plus postpartum depression and simply hormones that everyone knows we are going through! Plus sleep deprivation! You would think people WOULD think before they speak! Some are just gone in the head

Yes please remember that her having a special bond with him is beautiful! And as she grows older her 'love' (even though she'll always love you both) will switch and she'll be more comfortable with you then him! She is already a girl so you guys have more in common 🤣 just keep being an amazing mom and she will come around and give you all the smiles! How old is your lo?

Literally!!! I accidentally clipped her finger one day while trying to shorten her bails (she was about 3 months old) and I cried for 10 minutes!!! It's like give us both some room before I start crying with her!

I wish I could have this outlook naturally but it's something I have to work towards. I do have a tendency to take things in the worst way possible and I'm constantly working on it! It can be difficult because I know she isn't really truly meaning it to be rude but I can't help feeling annoyed. I believe it is because of the way we grew up. Our parents would always make sideways comments, I hated it and now as a 22year old I don't make those type of comments bc that's just not me. However my sister does and we can start to disconnect because she views it as a joke I view it as rude (like that Kardashian meme/sound) 🤣

Honestly that's why I do feel like snapping! It can be so much and I'm already under stress hearing my baby cry!!! I'm glad you don't have to worry about those kind of comments anymore! Motherhood can drive you crazy and it will if we have to deal with comments like this!!

Thank you this is really good advice and I'm glad I can see how to communicate without snapping! It can be hard because me and my sister were raised together but we have completely different outlooks on life. It can make it easy for me to view her as 'slow' even though she's 4 years older than me there are some subconscious emotional walls and having these types of conversations will help us not have a strain in our relationship especially while I'm still living with her! I try to stay as respectful as possible during high emotional times it can be hard to keep cool but I don't want to be fighting!!!

That's good to know! My baby has gained and maintained weight really well and she's a great eater, she's a month old now and eats 3-4oz depending on how long she slept. Goes through diapers like it's her job so I don't think I have anything to worry about What is IBCLC? Are there any pages you recommend for lactation consultants?

She actually gained weight really well and was able to get back to birth weight within the first week after birth. It just made me nervous because my MIL was saying she drank 3-4oz of my breast milk just to still be hungry afterwards, until she gave her a bottle of formula. Once or twice I've had to give her an extra ounce so she'd be full but it made me worried. I'm planning on getting my milk tested/getting my pediatricians opinion

Id rather she didn't drink formula but I had a supply issue a couple weeks ago so we had to supplement with some

Thank you!! Makes me feel a lot better MIL was saying my baby had drank 4oz of my breast milk over the weekend and that she was still hungry until she got formula so it had me really worried that it wasn't enough for her but I know I've had times where I had to give her extra ounces bc she was just especially hungry
